Many imported mushroom products contain heavy metals, and some Reishi products have added fillers. This product is high quality, grown in California, and priced right. I use Reishi daily in my coffee. It adds chocolate tones with minimal shroomy flavor. I have long covid, which increases inflammatory cytokines. Other mushroom products like Turkeytail activate the immune response partially by increasing pro-inflammatory cytokines. Reishi, on the other hand, is more balanced because it also increases anti-inflammatory cytokines, so I do not experience any elevation in my symptoms, even as it provides the same immune benefits along with helping to reduce stress.

I have this before bed mixed with 1 tbsp nestle zero hot cocoa with 1 packet splenda. I have the best sleep ever from this, REM sleep. Melatonin doesn't work for me but this puts me into deep sleep where i feel energized in the morning. I also noticed I am calmer even on stressful days. It’s not the cheapest supplement but I think it’s worth it for the peace and nightly serenity it provides.

I have been trying to get a question answered by the people at OM. I asked them why their Turkey Tail mushroom powder is dark brown when the turkey tail mushrooms that I collect, air dry and then grind are barely off white because the colored part of the Turkey tail is just a thin skin and the rest is white. I had bought their Turkey tail, Reishi, and Lions main mushroom and noticed that the Turkey tail was even a darker brown that the Reishi, I would have expected the opposite! After no answer came Amazon wanted to close the query and asked me to rate OM’s response and I gave them the lowest. Om then responded and said that was normal and I responded with my comment above of my own Turkey tail. I asked if one of their scientists would answer my question and I have not gotten a response; it has been a month. I have thrown away their products because I chose not to trust them since the company refused to answer my questions.
