I broke this up as best I could with a screw driver into very small fine pieces. The jar says Ammonia and Naphtha had been added. Had some on hand so I decided to give it a try. The paste is NOT cheap. I put 1/2 teaspoon each of Ammonia and Naphtha in the jar and worked it back into a paste with a small stick. Just like new. We'll see how long it lasts, but it put a great shine on my plane blade. Not sure the jar is as air tight as it could be. I might not be using it up fast enough. Beats throwing it out. This is used to polish metal by producing surface scratches too small to see with the naked eye. Just tried to buff out a crazed glass tumbler and the 2-3 micron paste is too fine for glass. Super good after *by R***D on February 27, 2024* Like others, this arrived a bit dried up. I contacted the manufacturer directly and they said to add just a little mineral oil. After a maybe 5 drops I worked it in with a toothpick, then applied to a leather belt. This finish step polished the scratch marks on the working edge and was clearly visible under the microscope. I had originally picked this up for kitchen knives, as my daily carry is just a gerber folding box knife. I decided to try the paste on the Lenox razors and could also see substantial improvement on factory new blades - only took 20 seconds.
