Woodworkersโ Secret
If youโre a woodworker or restore antiques this is your secret weapon to a perfect finish. Prep and sand your project as you would if you were going to stain, then substitute the Briwax for the stain and watch the magic happen. Iโve learned the best way to apply this is to follow the grain of the wood and then get your Karate Kid onโฆwax on, wax off. I buy cheap microfiber car wax applicators and dampen them VERY slightly to apply the wax, then use old cotton or microfiber towels to buff the wax. The wax makes the grain on the wood stand out much better than stain and buffs to a shine without the need for varnish. Two things to be aware of: 1. You can over do it with the wax. Donโt apply a thick layer in one area. Think about waxing your vehicle. If you over apply, it will gum up and give you a dull finish. 2. As much as it brings out the grain in the wood it amplifies flaws. If you have excess glue in your joints, the wax will show it, if you missed an area sanding or have a small Brad nail head exposed, the wax will show it. That said, I rarely use stain any more, this stuff is my favorite. I have a number of pieces in my home that have been in use for 8+ years and have never had to retouch them and they still have the same beautiful texture and shine. Granted this is more expensive than stain and it can be a little sloppy to work with (wear latex gloves) but the results are superior.

Perfect product to refinish you pine furniture!!!
We have Mexican furniture made out of recycled rough old pine. It is so pretty but needs to be restained and waxed. This is the perfect solution. Both can be done at once. The effect is absolutely perfect. Very easy to use either high quality results.

Deep, rich, lustrous color
We used Dark Brown BRIWAX to finish the shelving and door in our newly-built pantry. The color is deep, rich and lustrous. We chose not to add any sort of poly over the top, so we may encounter a scratch down to wood from time to time, but it's super easy to simply add a little wax to that spot (like shining a shoe) and the color is fully restored. We're really happy with the result. We used a different color of BRIWAX (Antique Mahogany) for our Cast Iron Wall; everything turned out beautiful. We're now finishing a fire place mantel with the Dark Brown and it's coming out great. We've included a before & after of the door, in the photos. We would definitely recommend BRIWAX for any wood finishing project.

Better than I expected
I am an amateur working on a 250 year old Syrian chest. I needed to restore the top, but did not want to actually refinish it. I needed something to smooth out the finish, remove some water rings, and smooth the finish where packing tape had left the patina in the wood but removed the top finish. This wax did all that. I am quite used to working with bees wax and carnauba, so I wasn't sure what this was going to get me. I did like the colored wax; that helped a lot. Yet better, the solvent for the wax softened the top finish of unknown origin, smoothed out the rest, and left a beautiful sheen. It got even better as I rubbed it a bit the second day, and again on the third day. Much of the patina is still there, now with a good, smooth finish. I am pleased.

My first experience with wax as a finish on wood...
This wax is a darker shade than I expected but very nice. It is soft and easy to apply. If you haven't used wax before, I'd suggest you do some reading online to get a better perspective on what you are about to do. Applying the wax was easy, buffing is work. I also used more wax than I should have...won't do that again. It made my job a lot harder. I used the wax on a pine trestle table which had been well sanded to remove what was left of the original finish. The Briwax made a really nice new finish and is a beautiful color. I love my "new" old table. Worth the work.

โฅ AMAZING WAX WITH A SPLASH OF COLOR โฅ
This BRIWAX comes in a variety of colors that suites your products needs. I ordered the Dark Brown. I am refinishing a Armoire that is black that I have distressed. I've applied a thin coat onto the Armoire and am learning with time how much I want for coverage. Follow the directions. I advice stirring the product really well. It does not give instruction on doing this- I suppose it's your choice. Please do in a well ventilated area with a fan. It's pretty strong and I advise using some rubber gloves. The product leaves a waxy residue on your fingers and does cause staining. It can be taken off with some effort- but I don't advice going unprotected. There is chemicals in most things that can be harmful to our health. The wax protects and seals the black paint on my piece and I feel good knowing that it's protected. I will upload pictures later when my piece is finished. I do wish that I had order the Clear to Light to cover my item. It is a bit darker than I had hoped for.

Great!
ThisBriwax was awesome! It was the perfect consistency and dries quite quickly when the weather is cooler and my kitchen cabinets look lovely! I would highly recommend this. If youโre from Canada, do not buy the briwax from amazon.ca because it is all dried out.
