**Q: Is it sharp**
A: No, the version I purchased is perfect for iaido training but it is not sharp. I would be careful about poking with it, however.

**Q: Is it made in china or Japan?**
A: This is made in China and currently, 90+% swords in the US market are made in China due to Japan is not allow carbon content blade to be exported also too pricy.

**Q: I've read all the reviews and some say the sword's tip is sharp/pointed and some say it is not. Which is it?**
A: It's not sharpened. It's a blunt edge knife. It has a sharp tip just like how a pencil can be sharp, so if you try hard enough, you can impale someone!

**Q: What type of stainless steel is used to make these swords?  is it 420, 440, aus a8, etc?**
A: The blade material of the stainless Iaido training sword is stainless steel #420.

An honorable piece. No sham..just a good practice sword..Just what I wanted. Real"handle". No fuss stainless. Very well done. wrapping excellent..Tsuba cast..but thick..perfect for practice..no play anywhere and real signed tang..weight excellent..wrapping fiber very comfy.. Thanks for a "real" product.

Few blemishes and stuff but its more for real katana training. They weight a little more then the sharp battle ready katana. The saya is really tight but thats good since my long sword is very loose and falls out if i bend over. Nice to have a daisho set tho for practice at least. I now have 6 swords from handmade sword company. 3 battle ready sharp and 3 practice katana. Make sure to go with the stainless steel because the aluminum alloy is light and more for kids. This is a heavy stainless steel blade and it feels about the same as the sharp ones so really good for idiao and kenjitsu and all of that. Love it.
