HUGE! Best for the price; great for macaws! Updated review: 6 mos later
I was worried about this arriving with damage since other reviewers had commented on that.... mine arrived perfectly and only 4 days after I ordered it. Yes, it comes in 2 boxes. They weigh a alot too. Amazingly quick shipping though! It is a very nice model and the Amazon price can't be beat for this size. I got free shipping and that was really nice too. It could have used some improved instructions for putting it together (perhaps a sticker to indicate the FRONT of the side panels?) But we figured it out. YES, you will need a helper to put this together, but it's not difficult. I appreciate the little jar of touch up paint and brush that came with it too. I hope to not have to use it though. I'm very happy with this purchase so far. My macaw is now out of his cramped old cage and enjoying himself so much more. The quality is very good. Updated on April 25, 2013: I still love my cage. I actually bought an identical one for my macaw to be outside on the porch since this cage is sooooo large that it won't roll out the door. You can't beat this amazon price and free shipping! I was pleased to see that the instructions have been updated to for assembly. Sadly, We had more some issues with the construction on this one though. The paint came scratched, there were some shoddy welds on the pan corner, and there was some misalignments with the wires on the panels. Lucky that we knew how to put it together already because we had to drill a hole to accommodate a shoddy wire attachment. For the money I can't complain, and I would buy again. I can say that the craftsmanship on this one is much different than my first one. I found the quality of my first one much better. That said, the packages arrived fine and there was no shipping damage at all. I love this cage, still do, and that's why I purchased an identical one for my bird to be outside. I think that the company will want to check quality control on these later models though. Would I buy again? Yes. But if I got this latest cage as my first purchase, I may not feel that way..... Just saying.... I will say that my indoor cage has been great! I line the pan with in continence pads and it has not ever looked like it wants to rust anywhere. I am not sure why someone else complained about rust. It is super easy to clean and access. My bird has not popped welds or been able to open any doors and all closures have held great.

The Holy Grail of Bird Cages — Please Bring It Back! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This cage changed my birds’ lives — and mine. It is, hands down, the best cage I’ve ever owned. If you’re lucky enough to still find one in stock somewhere, grab it. I’m heartbroken that it’s been discontinued and hope this review helps others speak up to bring it back. First of all, this cage is absolutely beautiful. The white finish blends perfectly into my minimalist space with white walls and light wood — no clunky black bars, no industrial vibe. It’s light, airy, and so elegant. I’ve decorated mine with little fairy lights and vines, and it looks like something out of a woodland dream or a gentle fairytale. But what matters most? My birds are obsessed. I’ve had lots of cages and playstands, but nothing compares to how much they love this one. They actually choose to go back to it — after 20 minutes of hanging out with me elsewhere, they’re ready to return to their magical room. I’ve ended up spending most of my time in there just to be near them! That’s how content they are in this space. People often say birds need flat-topped cages, but I’ve found that’s not necessarily true. My flock has always preferred dome or geodesic shapes — they gravitate toward cozy, rounded structures, and this flight cage is their paradise. It’s not just big — it’s beautifully designed, with thoughtful touches that make it feel more like a conservatory than a cage. It gives them real room to fly, play, and live. And for us parrot parents who sometimes have to step away during the day? This cage gives me peace of mind. I know they’re not just safe — they’re happy. They preen, they chitchat, they explore. It’s truly like a palace for them, and I honestly feel bad for ever housing them in anything less. Not all cages are perfect, and I did vet wrap one or two loops. But I have other cages where I had to vet wrap all the loops (closures that might have the tiniest of gaps for toenails to get stuck in— yet I’m extra paranoid) , and Prevue by far has the best quality of any the cages I’ve bought on here. Sturdiness, good construction, and it’s a nice chalky white, not grey like many cages are. If you’re thinking about it, or can find it— don’t hesitate. And if you already have one — please join me in reaching out to the company to bring it back. There is no other cage like this on the market: aesthetic, functional, beloved by birds, and truly life-changing. I’ll be dreaming of the day I can buy a second (or third) one — for now, I’ll just keep telling everyone how magical it is.

great overall
Pros: VERY spacious A beautiful off-white color Sturdy frame An overall decorative look with the sloped roof Easy to move Did I mention this thing is huge? Cons: A giant pain to assemble. But I should say that I'm not someone who's particularly talented with assembling things. Thin, easily damaged wire Grate doesn't stay firmly in place Metal tray - heavy and clunky Potentially arrives damaged (like mine did) I'm amazed that some people in the reviews mentioned putting this together in less than an hour. It took me an entire day and a half. I didn't have assistance, and used a chair to keep the frame parts in place. I also stood on my bed while putting the roof on. The roof was probably the worst part to get on. The metal strip that's supposed to go over the peak was all bent and damaged, so I decided to leave it off. The roof seems just fine without it. Just be aware that it leaves two 1/2 inch gaps at the very top. I'm considering covering it with silk plants. I really don't know how this item was damaged. It came in a box that was in perfect condition and was very well wrapped with bubble wrap. Yet, wires were bent and the track that's supposed to hold the tray was completely smashed. I had to carefully reshape it with pliers, causing damage to the paint. Luckily it isn't in a spot that's visible from just looking at the cage. As others have mentioned, some things didn't line up perfectly which added to the challenge. This definitely took effort. BUT - in the end I consider it worth it. My birds absolutely love their new home. There's so much space! And considering the price, it is a pretty good deal for a flight that's really bordering on aviary. I gave it 4 stars because of the damage to the product, but it really is a great cage once it's put together. My zebra finches and bourke's parakeet are really loving it.

here is the good, the bad
This review is long overdue. I purchased this cage in May of 2012. It has been home to my Blue & Gold ever since then. I am now taking this cage apart for the move to our new home. As for the cage, here is the good, the bad, and the ugly: The Good: This cage is huge and gives my Blue & Gold ample room for a swing, a food perch, and two other cross perches. The food bowls are a perfect size, not too big nor not too small. With the casters, it rolls freely even on a carpeted floor. The seed guards catch "most" of the waste seeds. After 3 and a half years, the cage came apart as if it were put together yesterday. It is well made and the finish has held up to the day to day abuse of a large hook billed bird without chipping or coming off. The door latch works well, and the hinged doors for the feed cups are well planned and most useful. The slide out lower grate makes for easy cleaning and the catch pan fits snugly in place as designed. The Bad: The rotating lock at the top of the door is useless and in the way. The screw hole was over sized and the provided screw kept falling off and was eventually thrown away inadvertently when cleaning out the catch pan. The seed guards were severely bent and almost unusable upon arrival. The lack of clear instructions for the assembly and installation of the seed guards was very disappointing. It took several attempts and more than a few descriptive words to finally figure it all out. The catch pan is a royal PITA to clean as it has no support mechanism when removing it. Keeping it properly aligned while sliding it in or out is impossible for one person. It takes 2 people just to remove and replace the pan at every cleaning interval. Extremely poor design when compared to other aspects of this cage and especially so considering the high cost of it. The Ugly: The packaging for this cage was practically humorous. No protection against damage from tow motors, hand trucks, or even human handling. Packaged in 2 separate boxes, both of which were far too heavy for the way the boxes were constructed. Considering the weight of the boxes, handling damage is inevitable, and unavoidable. Now for the worst complaint of all............shipped in 2 separate boxes as I already mentioned..........but NOT shipped together. They don't even come at the same time. One box was lost, could not be found even through tracking and scanning. As a Prime member, I was to receive the item in 2 days.......GUARANTEED. By the time I received the replacement cage, after being forced to wait for several days to see if the other box would mysteriously appear, I was nearly 10 days in and thankfully had not disposed of my previous hand built cage. Given the relatively high price for this item, I found the shipping of this item to be completely unacceptable. I am still seething over that experience. I certainly expected more from Amazon that that. And although it may or may not have been directly their fault, they are ultimately responsible as the seller of the item. I was truly disappointed with this purchase. As for the item itself, I give it 5 stars as the overall looks and functionality, along with the durability of the item, far exceed the few shortfalls that I described. The shipping and handling are not a reflection of the item as much as they are a reflection of the entities selling and delivering it. I would recommend this item highly to anyone needing a cage for a large bird, but I would also recommend buying it from a more reputable source such as your local pet store, and eliminating the harrowing experiences with shipping, handling, and the damages created by them.

Amazing, Amazing Aviary for my 9 Cockatiels!
This birdcage is just huge!!! Wow!! We moved into a bigger house and wanted to purchase a larger cage for our 9 cockatiels and 1 conure. We looked for more of an aviary/flight cage since we had the additional space where we could put it and found this cage on sale. The reviews looked pretty awesome and we enjoyed the pictures that were posted and decided- lets get it! It is amazing how things look different in pictures as opposed in real life because when we received this cage it was even bigger than online! Not that we are complaining, it is everything we wanted and more but Wow!!! Huge! The cage was delivered very fast and came in a huge box. It took my husband 2 hours to put it together and it really was not that bad to figure out. After he put it together it tooks us a few hours to get all of the toys hung for them and all of their food dishes. We did have to buy dishes for them that we could screw onto the bars. They got a new cage, toys, dishes and a wonderful big home! Some of the toys and branches did not fit well in the cage because they are for cockatiels so we improvised by going to Home Depot and buying larger metal disks to fasten them onto the cage and that worked out perfectly! The cage is so big that we are not able to take it outside and hose it down like we used to do with their other cage. So, this cage we just hand clean using a brush and poop-off cleaner. One big plus to cleaning the cage is that you could actually stand inside of it and clean it. The room that we have it in “The Bird Room” has a arch that leads into the family room because of this arch we are not able to move it anywhere else in the house because it is just that large! So, just know if you do not have high ceilings put it together in the room you want to keep it in because you will not be able to get it out. We have 9 cockatiels and have had no problems with them getting out of the cage, they can not fit through the bars. We were really hoping we would not have a problem and thankfully they are too big to fit through the bars. Now our conure is another story. Two weeks after they were in their cage we noticed that our conure was sitting on top of the cage, we were scratching our heads trying to figure what happened… we just assumed she snuck out while we were giving them food. This did happen a few times and we started to be really careful since the door is so big. Then in mornings she would be on top of the cage and would fly over to great us! We could not understand what was happening and thought maybe one of our kids did it. One day my husband and I were standing infront of the cage talking out how our conure is getting out and right infront of our eyes, she wiggled herself through the bars and flew on my shoulder! It was so funny!! As if she knew we were talking about her and just wanted to show us how she did it. So, from then on she gets out when she pleases and goes right back in. LoL! So……. I would not recommend this cage to anyone that has smaller birds such as a finch or conure but, cockatiels seem to be just fine in the cage.

Great Cage! Best Price!
I recently ordered 2 of these cages for my cockatoos. They arrive in two very large boxes for each cage. HINT: Be careful not to destroy the original box. Take note of how to repack the pieces, just in case you decide to send back!!... One of the 4 boxes was significantly damaged. Fed-X made note of the damage...I am a single women, 66 yrs. old. I would have had difficulty moving any one of these boxes on my own. I was able to unpackage each box on my porch and move the pieces inside one by one... I have to say that the cages seemed very well packaged and the pieces are tied together with zip ties. The cardboard is of poor quality though!... So there was no damage in shipment, that I could tell. However there were some bent areas that obviously occured b/4 shipment. Although you can straighten most pieces with pliers, I was not able to straighten the bent bars. Only one bent bar on each cage and really not a problem...I called Amazon about the damaged second cage, 1-866-216-1072. So damaged that there was no way to put it together... They were wonderful!! They immediately sent out a replacement cage and a call tag for UPS to pick up the second cage with no additional charge. I received the replacement 3 days later! And that cage was in great shape. It took me several days to get the return cage ready for UPS pick up and they were great about waiting for me. (Make sure you have a big roll of packaging tape!!) Assembly was really easy!! The instructions say to use 2 people. But it can be easily done alone using long heavy duty twist ties, and lots of pillows to hold up the opposite end. Unfortunately, the casters go on early so I had to brace it against the wall in the beginning. Really difficult to put on later without possible damage to the cage or additional help. Do measure your space!! This cage is HUGE. Very well worth the price and efforts involved.

Don't order this cage from Amazon!
This is the second time I have ordered this exact cage from Amazon. The first one arrived last year with slight damage to the box and cage and I kept it though I was unhappy with paying over $200.00 for a slightly damaged item. I took a chance a couple of weeks ago thinking it had been a fluke and ordered another exact cage to be delivered to my assisted living community for our sunroom. I wasn't there when it was delivered. There was extensive damage to the box but the cage seemed ok. It was only when the residents and I started to assemble it that I realized the extent of the damage to the cage. The tray was damaged on the corner and sticks out enough to catch someone's clothing if standing close to it, one side panel was dented outwards so that it was bowed, I was unable to attach the roof in that section because the holes wouldn't line up. There was damage to another panel where the wires were bent out large enough for a small bird to be able to escape. The bottom door was bowed out to make it extremely difficult to drop the pin down to securely close the door. I would return it but my elderly residents are so thrilled with our new cage and finches that I can't bring myself to do so. With the exception of the wires none of this damage showed up until we were 2/3rds of the way through putting it together. I am unhappy with again spending over $200.00 for a damaged product. The savings wasn't worth it because I'd rather have paid more for a perfect cage then save $60.00 and receive a damaged one. I order from Amazon frequently but I don't recommend anyone ordering this cage from Amazon. It's normally a beautiful cage, I have one at home that I ordered from Drs Foster & Smith. (It arrived undamaged)

Could have been 5 stars.
The description of this product does NOT explain that it comes in 2 different boxes. After I opened the 1 box that I did receive, I realized that I was missing a whole bunch of pieces. Eventually, I realized that the box it came in said "Box 1 of 2". I called the company and asked where box #2 was. The company referred me to another number and they had no idea what I was talking to. Eventually i just emailed Amazon. The Amazon rep that I spoke with was actually quite helpful. She called me every day to see if box #2 came. It never did so about a week later the Amazon rep finally set it up for me to receive a whole new shipment. This time both boxes came together. She also set me up to have UPS pick up my initial order to be sent back for free. So, that was done and out of the way. My only other issue is that 2 weeks after having this new cage, the bottom hinge on the door snapped and now I have no idea what Im going to do. Otherwise, this cage is very well built, sturdy, and large. You really need 2 people to put it together. I only give this product 3 stars because of the inconvenience of receiving my whole order and having the hinge on the door snap. My cockatoo really likes this cage.

Sound product, door a little on small side but only a negative for perch rearrangement
My conure loves his new cage, perfect for a smaller bird who comes out often to fly (mine prefers height rather than length for his cage so he can see the room) . Was easy to set up but did require full assembly - less experienced flat-packers might want an extra person for help. Wheels and two removable trays fully functional and entire cage structurally sound. Wooden bar perch supplied wasn't well produced so slid around a lot - we've just taken this out completely as purchased a lot of other different perches anyway. Only downside would be front door doesn't allow great access for putting up perches/toys - especially if you have short arms like me! Otherwise a sound product that is made well, easily cleanable and has side doors to remove/replace food and water bowls.

This cage is very sturdy, and quite easy to assemble
This cage is very sturdy, and quite easy to assemble. A very nice cage all around. The only thing that I didn't really like was the perch included was very cheap "wood" and I wouldn't use it for my bird. The pull out drawer makes for very easy cleaning which is a plus. All in all, a very good cage for small birds like budgies, conures, finches or canaries. If you're looking for a nice starter cage, I defiantly recommend this! Well worth the price. I love it.

Love it ,get it
My flight aviary arrived this afternoon ,me and my brother had it together in less then an hour ,easy directions , it was EASY to assemble ,LOVE LOVE LOVE IT it is even more then I thought it would be ,seemed flimsy at first glance . but well building it as we tightened up screws it got more solid ,I shopped around at every pet store in Prince George BC looked online at cages for sale for weeks ,and this truly was best deal ,plus free shipping helped keep costs down MY LOVEBIRDS SEEM SO TINY IN IT ,SO MUCH ROOM FOR THEM .. I guess I could say the bottom tray seems flimsy and doesn't fit snug (seen 63 reviews for this cage ) and every person said that same thing about tray , and I would agree ( I also still bought it because that was only real issue ,going to run a couple bungee cords underneath the tray no biggie and nothing you would see.....so out of 1 to 10 I GIVE THIS FLIGHT CAGE ------- A SCORE OF 9 my birds haven't stopped singing I really do see them happier already.....and bird people know there birds :)
