I recently bought the SanDisk 2TB Extreme PRO Portable SSD, and it’s been a total workhorse for my on-the-go storage needs! The read and write speeds—up to 2000MB/s—are blazing fast, making it a breeze to transfer huge video files or back up my photo library in no time. Its compact, rugged design with an aluminum chassis and IP65 water/dust resistance feels super durable, perfect for tossing in my bag without worrying about drops or spills. The included USB-C and USB-A cables make it versatile for my laptop and older devices, though I’ve read some Macs only hit 1050MB/s due to port limitations, which hasn’t been an issue for me. My only gripe is it can get warm during heavy use, but the sleep mode cools it down fast. A bit bigger than earlier models but probably correlated to components that makes it's transfer velocities so extremely rapid. If time is important it is worth the price.

Your computer must support Thunderbolt/USB 4.0 to be able to unlock the full potential of the extreme pro. If your computer only has USB 3.0 or 3.2 then save your money, just go with extreme 1050 MB/S version. I bought the extreme pro 3800 MB/S version. My laptop supports Thunderbolt 4.0 and after tested it can go above 3000 MB/S. Definitely not as claimed but it's a very good performance for a USB SSD. I also tried with normal USB 3.2 port and the speed down to about 1100/S. So save some money if your computer only have USB 3.2. Another plus side is that after roughly 10GBs of R/W test, the disk does not feel hot.

It is indeed very fast. Compact and easy to transport. Doesn't seem to heat up very much. I did transfer massive files back and forth and it did warm up just a little bit, just mildly. Very expensive, but great performance. Especially if you have USB4 to take full advantage of the speed.
