Sliding T-Bevel Angle Finder, Stainless Steel Rule, Etched Marks

This represents a superb value for the quality of the tool. However the angle finder is delivered in an unfinished state. The wood (likely IPE or another foreign hardwood) has no finish on the tool whatsoever. The edges are uncomfortably sharp. A sanding sponge to round over the edges, followed by a couple of coats of boiled linseed oil made this beautiful and comfortable to hold.

My earlier comment noted a missing part.. I was surprised at the speed with which the supplier/seller sent a replacment! This tool is a work of art : fine quality wood matched to steel blade that is very clear to read ... Flawless ... !! All edges are sharp: which is meaningful in that any edge can be used as a scribe guide .... Thanks, Mr/Ms Seller !

Well designed + made. Generally used as a bench tool. Works as it should. Blade is accurate and metal finish nice. Love the size and ease of setting angle. Tool stands up to abuse well. Tung oiled the wood and took the edge off of brass end . For my own preference. Nice purchase.

I received mine today. The wood looked dried out and was rough. I took some 00 Steel Wool and Johnson's Paste Wax. I first lightly sanded the wood with the steel wool. It was much smoother, actually silky smooth. I then waxed the wood with the paste wax and rubbed it off. The wood then had a much richer color and felt better in the hand. The steel wool did a great job. It didn't take much wood off the handle. You have to be careful you don't ruin the parallel sides which could destroy the accuracy of the tool. Here is a photo of the finished result.

Excellent woodworking tool.

Just what I needed

This sliding bevel do its job for the price, so it is ok. Said that forget about a tool to enjoy as an object, quality and attention to details are just not there. The wood has being cut pretty rough apparently with a not sharp enough blade. It has sharp edges so it need some sanding. The color of the wood is pretty red. I am not an expert in wood but look to me that it has been soaked in ink to give it that color. After sanding the red color is still there whether the ink soaked deep of that wood is that red. You can see the milling marks in the recess where the logo is. Not big deal, a bit of sanding and done. The brass inserts in the lower part are not squared so it gives a poor quality image over all. So yes, it is a functional tool that will get the job done bu won't give you the visual and touch pleasure of a quality hand made tool with good material and attention to details. I forgot to take some pictures in the before. pictures attached are after some sanding.

For a traditional look and feel these wooden and steel tools are great. Swanson makes good affordable stuff. Can’t go wrong!

Good quality metal parts, well stamped measurement markings, nicely machined brass top. Very nice wooden handle - one of the best looking items in my shop! Functionally very good, just as you would expect.

La herramienta es una basura!!! Aparte de venir con los detalles metálicos sueltos el cuerpo de madera todo descuadrado!! Tal vez la culpa también es mía por esperar algo de calidad por el precio, primera vez que me pasa esto con Amazon!

I'm pretty religious in reading Amazon reviews before I purchase something. Generally this tool received positive reviews. It deserved them all. It's a well made sliding T-Bevel. What I don't understand is why some people gave it a negative rating since the tool is fit for purpose, and the wooden handle with brass fitting looks sharp.
