Boar Bristle Hair Brush Set for Thick, Long and Curly Hair, Medium

I was shopping for a new hairbrush because the basic store one I'd bought only 6 weeks before already had the rubberized coating peeling off the handle. I came across the Belula set for thick hair and I'm really pleased I decided to spend a bit more for it. I prefer to have as few hair tools as possible, but the wood comb turned out to be the detangling hair care step I didn't know I needed, and the soft nylon pins in the bamboo-handle brush really do help maximize the boar bristles' use. I'd tried using a boar bristle brush years ago and was frustrated because it seemed my hair is so thick that the bristles never even got anywhere near my scalp. This hairbrush gets the job done beautifully though, and my hair seems sleeker and less prone to flyaways after use. Both the comb and the hairbrush are well-designed, fitting comfortably in the hand, and they have an almost vintage natural aesthetic that I appreciate. This set includes a spa wrap (goes around the head to keep hair out of your face while you're lying around with cucumbers and a mud mask on your face, or something) and a nice fabric pouch to store everything in when you travel. I would give this set as a practical yet pretty present to someone. I believe I saw a question or reviewer comment about the odor from the hairbrush when it's first unpackaged. I checked when I opened the set, and the odor of rubber wasn't that strong to me. Maybe if it had been sitting outside on a hot day for hours, it would be stronger? Anyway, it is a natural rubber odor that went away pretty quickly, and it doesn't affect the performance of the hairbrush, so it doesn't seem to be a reason for concern.

WOW!!!! This boar bristle brush is FANTASTIC. I have been fighting with my frizzy, very thick hair. My hairdresser and I have been trying all kinds of hair care products but none of them can contain my hair especially when it is humid. So....she randomly said..."Why don't you get a boar bristle brush? Brush every night and let your natural sebum nourish your hair?". It seemed so simple a solution that I thought it couldn't be true. So we went to Amazon and we picked this brush as best for my hair....the longer plastic bristles help the brush get through my thick hair so the boar bristles can get to my scalp. OH MY GOODNESS!! It is so good at taming my hair that I can use it multiple times during a high humidity day and it will tame the frizz. I highly recommend this product and intend to also travel with it to help my hair while I'm on the road. NOTE: I did have one issue. The brush was supposed to come with a wooden comb and travel bag but neither of those things was in the box when it arrived. I didn't want to return the brush because it is so good. So....I sent a note to the vendor and got the NICEST and QUICKEST response EVER. She said that she would not only send me the missing items but she sent me a second brush!!!! Her resolution and quality of communication was unbelievable. I will buy more things from this seller based on the quality of their product and packaging as well as their customer service. BTW, the wooden comb also is wonderful as it doesn't create static when I use it. Those plastic combs just add to my problems. SO..............just buy this brush!!

I am 80 years old and have had long hair most of my life. As a child, my mother taught me to brush my hair 100 strokes with a boar's hairbrush to make it beautiful. In my youth, I had so many compliments on my hair. Of course, over the years, I neglected to follow her advice. I have never colored my hair, but there was damage from drying, and my hair thinned as I aged. I have used this brush and the one without the nylon pins for about a month twice day. I haven't done 100 strokes per day, but about 25 strokes twice a day. This brush with the nylon pins gets through to my scalp better and the boars hair bristles distribute the natural oils from your scalp. This seems to distribute the natural oils more evenly. By using this brush, my hair looks smoother and shinier, and the nylon bristles help to stimulate my scalp to make it healthier. The handle on these brushes is easy to hold, and the weight is very light. The brushes with and without nylon pins both are of high quality and look to be very durable. I believe they are a great value for the money considering the benefits they have on the health of your hair. I hope this review has been helpful for you.

I've been using this brush for about 3 years now. I chose it bc I read that boar bristles are good for aging hair. I have thick hair and wanted a brush that would be gentle for my aging hair as it becomes more brittle. I do get frizz from time to time, but my other big complaint is that my scalp has become dry and oily at the same time. It's annoying. Anyway, I love this brush! It's super gentle, but works great on detangling my hair. It makes my hair smooth and none of the bristles have fallen out. It supposedly distributes oil in the hair, but I have no idea how to test that, but I just assume it does. It's just a brush, I realize, but it is my favorite one I've ever had.

I have what would consider thin, fragile hair. I bought this brush because I had a very expensive one that was similar but was lost in luggage. I bought this as a temporary replacement and I got what I paid for. It made my hair feel oily even immediately after being dried. I had no tangle issues and the size was perfect from handle to bristles. The weight was the same and it looks like cleaning will be the same too. But the bristle quality was lacking and the spacing was too far apart compared to what I am used to. I kept this item and use it on my dog. She absolutely loves it. And I will say this much, it’s the best dog brush I’ve ever owned.

Best money I’ve spent in quite some time. Quality is 10 out of 10! I am most impressed with the difference it’s made in my hair. Leaves your hair looking and feeling healthier and shiny. You can actually see the difference. Great product.

This brush is gentle on your hair detangles wavy hair with no effort at all. Smooth process when combing through hair. Gentle on your scalp very durable. Great value for your money.

This is the best brush and come!!! No tangles! I have bought one for my grandchildren and two for myself. Highly recommend for every one. Love using it to detangle wet hair too. I carry the comb in my purse.

Me duele me pone de malas no bueno… sin embargo por recomendación compre este cepillo para evitar que mi pelo se vea grasoso si no lo lavo diario, y bueno… desde el primer uso fue como un delicioso masaje en el cuero cabelludo. I haven’t spent money on a quality brush in a while . I have a huge catchment of brushes for all the different styles that I’ve had over the years and one is another boar round brush. - (that I spent $50 on back the 80s ) . This one is far less and such a great deal I have added three more to my basket as I plan to give them as gifts this year. What a treat.! I have wavy shoulder length hair that tangles easily and always looking ‘frizzy ‘ without product . The brush is very gentle and truly does make your hair shiny and sleek( not oily ) . I don’t need the product now . Truly leaves my hair dealing smooth and healthy . The packaging is great , comes with a micro fiber headband with Velcro closure (that I love), a wooden comb to use to clean the brush. And a drawstring bag to package for travel. A very generous add on and the price point is below 40 ? I have not compromised on quality well, I compare it to other brands that are much higher. I read the reviews and I must agree this brush Exceeds my expectations . very pleased with my purchase It is fair to mention that the handle is not ergonomic, however it glides so easily through my hair that it’s not putting any strain on my hands. It’s a quality brush !

I love my new hairbrush so much I brought one for my sister. My hair has gone from dry to silky smooth. It has reduced the amount of knots i get significantly.
