She very athletic, but her growth is poor and she hase become one of the smallest in her age, which really hurts the potential to excel to scholarship level in the sports she participates in. After getting an allergy test we discovered she is very allergic to dust mites, plus somewhat allergic to every type of weed and grass she was tested for, as well as cat and dog, which we have. Bed time was always a chore trying to get her nose to dry up enough she could sleep, then in the middle of the night she would wake up completely stuffed up call for her mom to come help her. My daughter has not taken a single allergy or asthma drug in the 1 1/2 weeks we have owned this product. It is a night and day difference. If she is out and becomes stuffed up before bed, it only takes 20 minutes in bed with the machine running beside her bed and she clears up. Doctors aren't too worried about growth stunting, because they refer to the charts and claim your kid is still within the normal chart. They don't tell you the lower end of the chart is very short and in non-physician eyes, is abnormal. Great machine, just wish we had it sooner. A little more, as to the review which said it is loud, it is about the same as a Honeywell hepa filter on its lowest setting. I do not think it is loud at all. Voices to not have to be raised when talking around it. It maybe expensive, but you get what you paid for, which if you need disinfected, pure air it gives it too you and no other product I have used comes close, It appears to be built to last a life time. 7/1/15 I continue to be impressed with this machine. Best built device and functioning machine I have purchased in many years. The sound it makes is soothing and perfect to sleep to, and over rides sounds from outside the room, so we can talk normally when our daughter is a sleep with door open. We even take it on trips, which it is not designed for. Maybe they could eventually make a smaller traveling one. Review: Did not work as well as my smaller, less expensive air cleaners - I bought this to control odors in the room where I have my cats' litterboxes. Considering the high cost of this thing, I expected it to work better than my smaller, much less expensive air cleaners. It didn't. I don't think it worked as well as my smaller air cleaners. In fact, I could feel very little air coming out of the this thing making me think that it was cleaning and circulating very little air. Helps with allergies and congestion and much better than our Fellowes and Honeywell filters. The filter percentage went down by about 1% a day while we had it running continuously in our bed room, and so the skeptic in me assumed the count down was some sort of automatic program intended to lure me into reordering filters faster. When it went down to 0% I paid no attention but kept it running ... And then about a week after that I realized our room didn't smell as clean and my nose was stuffier. So it definitely works.
