100 White GAURA Whirling Butterflies Gaura Lindheimeri Flower Seeds

Plant arrived in good condition and I planted in my garden. It is thriving but has not really changed much. Thinking it will probably do well after it acclimates to our Florida weather which has been overly rainy this summer.

I am keeping the seeds.

Pros: You get alot of seeds. I think there were 100 seeds. Cons: They had instructions to chill the seeds for a long time prior to planting. I chilled as instucted. I planted them and not one sprouted. Still waiting but it’s been over a month.

They have still not decided to grow! I keep waiting, but am thinking it's just not going to happen

But between wild cats digging the dirt up and catipillars I can not say what the seed is doing. See a few small plants but not many.

Very fast and packaging was good. Waiting to plant and will take pic's as soon as they bloom. Ordered another color also.

Guara is one of my favorite perennial plants to grow from seed. It’s very draught tolerant and so floriferous all summer. Some seeds have special needs in order to sprout, and Guara is one of those if you want to plant your seedlings in spring. Guara needs to be put into moist sand and put in a refrig for about 60 days and then seeds can be planted in medium in cell trays, or pots to sprout. Also, I would recommend to put them in seed cell tray on a heat mat with a plastic dome cover, heat mat set at 70 deg. and under lights for germination keeping soil just moist (may take 2-4 wks to sprout). This process is called *stratification.* Parsley seeds, cilantro as well as carrot seeds will benefit from this as well. Suggestion: always check on internet for “seed germination needs” for a specific flower, veggie or bush you wish to grow from seed first before ordering. Some seeds, such as poppy seed, need light to germinate, so if you cover them you may get very poor germination or none at all (yep! operator error if seeds don’t sprout). Hopes that helps everyone. Also if you feel growing from seed is too much just buy a Guara plant, they reseed themself readily making babies (though as perennials you’ll still have the mother plant). Also, if you wish to move your established Guara after it’s larger, be careful, they really don’t care to be moved. I killed mine trying to do so. Dang! If you plant Guara in-ground in the fall and live in cooler areas, the winter weather will act as stratification outdoors and you don’t need to do the refrig thing. However, if your garden is like mine, weeds grow so fast it may be hard to determine which is the Guaraj sprouts. Good luck!

My sister had this plant and it's really beautiful. I couldn't wait to get these seeds but they NEVER came up!! I gave some to a friend and they never came up for her either!!!
