Inexpensive, very functional, easy to read screen, and important item to have in your house.
There are times when you need a radio. Weather, disaster situation, camping, traveling ...This radio is powered by 2 AA batteries with no USB charging option. Not a bad thing really if you want to put some batteries in a radio and keep it around for power outages. USB internal batteries are fine, but can go dead quickly if on the shelf. This radio works well. While simplistic, it offers a nice scan and store option that will put all the stations it finds into its preset bank. You can also manually move up and down the AM and FM dials. It has an alarm (did not test) and 24 hour clock. In all of my electronics reviews, I attempt to setup and operated without instructions to give it an intuitive score. As for as this item is concerned, it is very easy to use and operated without any instructions for most people. However, I couldn't find a way to toggle the 24 hour clock into a 12 hour clock. When scanning AM and FM, this little radio found a lot of stations, even distant ones on the FM dial. AM stations with a lot of noise could be falsely stored, but you should look over this. AM radio is very noisy and it could just be from the electricity in your house. The little speaker in the radio does a good job of producing sound. The included headphones are not good at all but will get you by if you needed to pick up on news or weather in a tight situation. Plugging in quality headphones allowed for good stereo sound but the internals of the radio seem to over-compress the audio going to the headphone jack. This too isn't a problem. This radio isn't targeting the audiophile market and does everything an inexpensive radio should do.BOTTOM LINE: Inexpensive, very functional, and important item to have in your house for many reasons.

Good little radio to have for emergencies
I ordered this little radio so I'd have something on hand to use in case of an emergency of some sort. It takes a pair of AA batteries (not included of course) and there is a battery life indicator on the screen, which is something not usually seen on anything with insertable batteries and is a nice feature if you ever find yourself in a situation. This radio feels and sounds like an old transistor radio with some modern digital features, like scanning and saving local stations, built-in sleep and alarm, an auto off backlit display for use in the dark, and buttons instead of dials. There's a telescoping antenna, an internal speaker, and a wrist strap is included to prevent dropping it when you're carrying it around in your hand. Reception is good, I can pick up most of the local radio stations inside my house with this and reminded myself why I never really listen to the radio anymore. The instructions give a decent rundown of how to set time, scan for stations, and set alarms. The included ear buds are pretty basic and entirely functional, but not really anything to write home about. They might be useful in noisy areas or if you want to listen privately. A minor bother is that it only displays 24 hour time. There's no function for AM/PM display. It's certainly not enough of an issue for me to knock a star, but it does seem a bit of an oversight. It's small, works well, and is fit for purpose. There might be a touch of nostalgia here to as I haven't had a radio like this in years. I'm pleased with this and it'll be a good tool to have on hand.

Large display easily readable day or night
This is for "AM FM Mini Portable Radio, Battery Operated by 2 AA Batteries with Stereo Earphone (Black)"Price at review time: $9.99Plastic bodied radio with rubber front buttons and plastic buttons on top and right side. AA batteries not included. Radio weighs five and a half ounces with batteries. Once batteries are installed, the display is always on to serve as a clock radio. Have to remove batteries to turn off entirely. Manual covers the various functions.Battery meter shows three bars with regular AA or rechargable lithium AA, two bars with Nimh or Low Self Discharge (LSD) batteries (lower starting voltage). I had trouble sliding the battery cover back on when LSD batteries were used, because of slightly larger diameter.I found the reception is normal for a radio with this size antenna. The display is grey LCD with orange backlight turning on when buttons are pressed. Sufficient brightness to be read at night.Although the radio does not have a Bluetooth transmitter, there are cheap transmitters available which plug into the 3.5mm jack for use with Bluetooth earbuds or headphones.

Very Impressive for the Price
The Rysamton portable pocket FM/AM radio gives you a lot of bang for your buck. First it looks great and is a small compact size. I love the large digital display which lights up orange temporarily when you push a button. Also I like how it has push volume buttons on the side instead of a volume wheel. It has auto scan to save presets and you can delete any presets you don't want to keep. It picks up a good amount of FM radio stations although I wish some came in a little clearer. It only picked up a few AM stations but maybe there's not a lot nowadays not sure. The speaker sounds ok for its size but I wish it was a little louder. The radio has a clock (and alarm clock) but it's only in 24-hour military time I wish it had a 12-hour option. It comes with earbuds which don't sound great but the last two transistor radios I bought didn't even come with earbuds. At the current price of $10 this is a great deal.
