Steel kettle
Very good, works as should. Boils quickly. Difficult these days to find only steel kettle. Per some reviews I managed to take all plastic parts from inside.

Basic and Efficient
A typical modern kettle I've had in the past has a level window, hinged lid and a light to indicate it is heating the water. This kettle has none of these but do I miss them? The hinged lid is fine - it has to sprung clips. Indeed it is easier to fill then with a hinged lid and possibly also less of a risk of this failing - I've had a hinge fail on a previous make of kettle. I don't miss the light at all - the noise (not excessive in my view) - is enough to indicate when the work is done, as is the click of the switch. I do miss the level indicator. This kettle does have indicators for 1-3 'cups' - I find three cups equals a large mug - and an embossed 'max' level, all on the inside and a little difficult to see unless in full light. Other points are that the base seems flimsy, made of a flexible plastic instead of some solid material. It works though and is not an issue. The shiny steel is better then brushed steel for cleaning. My only criticism is when it comes to pouring. With a full kettle I'm tempted to try and pour it faster by tipping it almost horizontal. My previous kettle coped with this but this one does not. It will only pour at a certain rate (which is reasonably fast) and to tip it at too great an angle cause water to dribble down the outside of the spout. It's not a major issue, just something to get used to. Maybe it's just me! Overall though it's a good, basic kettle.

Russell Hobbs Kettles still worth Buying if you are into 'Brand Loyalty'
Russel Hobbs is a brand with a distinguished history. But in many respects it is 'just a brand' that trades upon it being 'well-known' from a time when many people 'felt they needed to own or have a Russell Hobbs Kettle'. Many of these jug-type kettle use the same element and auto turn-off mechanism. In that respect there is nothing remarkable. I like the brand and the design and have now bought several Russel Hobbs kettles. I found all kettles of this type whether Russell Hobbs or any other brand then they tend to last for about five to six years. Like everything nowadays they are not repairable and of course they must be disposed of in the correct way. Yes, I am happy with my kettle and I hope it will last at least around six years like the previous one and which was the same model.

fast
Some reviews complain about a wobble, I realised, you need to choose the length of wire extension first then clip it in, no more wobble. I miss the pop-up lid of my last one, but I'll get accustomed to just lifting the lid too. This is going to need a little more cleaning maintenance due to the chrome finish, but it does look good. One last thing, it is a little loud, but I don't mind that, I can hear it complete its mission from the next room.

Reasonable kettle, functional but feels average in mosts respects
Having owned a couple of other kettles, purchased this given the reviews. For the price you probably will feel this is adequate - boils water at a rapid pace and is light / ok to wipe clean but needs to be done after each use (but always an issue with all chrome finished products) . However compared to a previous kettle from another manufacturer bought on Amazon, but unfortunately no longer available, this does not feel as sturdy, wobbles on the charging stand, lacks a light to show that its on and makes more noise. Overall functional and effective but not a set buy to my mind . . . and my wife instantly felt the same

It boils water!
My old electric kettle had sprung a leak so was dangerous to use and I needed a replacement in a hurry. This was my rather rapid choice, and I'm not disappointed with it. The only minor downside I've found so far is that the lid isn't easy to grip for removal to refill the kettle unless the lid and your fingers are spotlessly clean and free from grease. My solution was to stick a small strip of the furry side of black Velcro to either side of the lid handle. Had the sides been textured and/or a little more concave, this wouldn't have been necessary. That said, it works and appears to be of reasonably sturdy construction by modern standards. If I don't come back to edit this review, assume it's still working. For now, I'm giving it the thumbs-up.

Great kettle
A very nice kettle. Shame about the length of the power cord though, itโs so short I have had to use an extension lead from the main plug socket to plug the base in otherwise it needed to be risen a good inch off the worktop. Otherwise great.
