I've used this since I was a child, and it works excellently. There's not very much in the container, but you only need a small amount, so I find that it typically expires before I can get through the whole thing. It's definitely worth the price, and gets rid of cold sores about as quickly as you could hope for.

I don’t leave a lot of reviews, but Abreva honestly deserves 5 stars. If you deal with cold sores, you know how frustrating and uncomfortable they can be—and this stuff works. The key is applying it as soon as you feel that first tingle. Don’t wait for the blister to appear. I caught mine early and it barely even surfaced. It healed in just a couple of days, and it never got painful or crusty like they usually do. The pump is super convenient—more sanitary than the little tubes, and easy to toss in a bag or pocket. A few tips to get the best results: Apply at the very first sign (tingle, itch, tightness)—it makes a huge difference. Use a clean finger or cotton swab to apply—don’t double dip! Reapply throughout the day, even if it seems like it’s gone. Consistency helps it heal faster. It’s pricey for the size, but you really only need a tiny amount each time. Cold sores are never fun, but this makes them way more manageable. I keep one of these on hand at all times now—totally worth the investment. Notes: Make sure it is made in Germany, not India. There are many fake ones out there. Beware: Do NOT buy many at once. These have short expiration dates.

This is the only medicine I will use for my cold sores. Unfortunately, I get about 6 a year and they are the absolute worst things you can imagine. If you've ever had one before, you know the drill...tingling, pain, awkwardness around others, the 'bubble, the 'break', the scab, a finally tingling, and gone. Horrid, I know. BOTTOM LINE: IF YOU HAVE A COLD SORE, GET THIS. I've tried about every brand of relief that is out there, and this by far is the best and most effective on the market. You will notice after about a minute that something good is happening to your sore. I liken it to a piece of steak on a freshly punched eye. There is a cooling and relief feeling that does help make a crappy situation better. Amazon also offers this at the lowest price point that I've ever seen. If you get these regularly, be proactive and pick one up now. To say that it 'cures' the cold sore may be a stretch. Based on my experience, this does help making it go away faster than anything else I've used. So maybe I am just bitter about the whole thing! Why only 4 stars? The pump is kind of a pain. I don't like not knowing how much I have left and when I run out of the product and I think I have more, I get super bummed. It also teases you towards the end and goes from fully doling out a dose, to just not working. All in all, this is the best product on the market to help make a bad situation a bit better.

Wow!! This product deserves more than 5 stars. This was the 2nd cold sore I’ve ever had. I felt the tingling on a Sunday night and woke up with the boils the next morning. I slept with abreva on (I had reapplied it a few times before bed) it burned kinda bad, but that just means it’s working. On Monday I felt like everyone was looking at my cold sore… on Tuesday you could barely see it! The boils went down completely and the only way you could tell it was there was from the different colored area on my lip. The pump gives you the perfect amount. My lip is healing well and I’m very grateful for this product. Don’t wait to buy it if you think you need it!! Took a huge weight off my shoulders and sped the healing process tremendously

This is an awesome product. Pricey but well worth the money. Great for cold sores. A little goes a long way.
