Lion Brand Yarn (1 Skein) Vanna's Choice Yarn, Colonial Blue

Vanna's Choice yarn is one of my absolute favorites to work with. It's a gorgeous premium acrylic yarn that works well for tons of different projects. I have both knit and crocheted with this yarn and both produce a gorgeous end result. This yarn is fairly soft for the price. It glides very easily on knitting needles and crochet hooks without snagging or coming apart. It's not stiff and scratchy like some other brands I've tried. This particular yarn is worsted weight, which is my favorite. It is a bit thicker than some other worsted weight yarns but I personally like that. It's also really nice that this yarn can be machine washed. That's always convenient. I've used this yarn to make baby hats, adult hats, blankets, mittens, scarves, toys, slippers, and more. It's always worked very well for me. The color choices are fantastic too. So many beautiful colors. I usually pick this yarn up at my local Hobby Lobby but unfortunately they didn't have this color and it was requested by a client of mine so I had to order it here from amazon. My only other option was to drive 40 minutes one way to pick this up at Joann's craft store. This item was an add on item so I had to order $25 worth of product for this to ship free with prime shipping. So I did that. The product shipped right away and was here within 2 days in perfect condition. It was actually cheaper to buy it on here than at the store, which was nice. If your looking for a nice, soft acrylic yarn for your next project, then I would highly recommend trying Vanna's Choice acrylic yarn. You will not be disappointed. I rely on the reviews of others in my decision to purchase items from amazon. I always try to make my reviews engaging and useful to others. I love this yarn. I’ve used it many times. It’s affordable and good quality. But the picture color of “Grey Marble” does not match the actual color, which is a medium grey, not light cream. Otherwise it’s a good buy.

Good yarn

I love the color of this yarn and the softness of it. As I was 1/4 of the way in with my project, I noticed a knot. It was annoying, but I was able to incorporate it without really noticing thankfully. I’m fairly new to crocheting so I don’t know if knots are a common occurrence, but I have another skein of yarn I’ve been using from this brand and haven’t found any knots in that one so far. I also had to undo some of my work a couple of times and found the yarn was splitting, but I just powered through that part until it was back to normal. Either way, it has a solid amount of yardage so the value is there!

I crochet a lot. I have tried many of the different brands that Amazon carries. I find that my favorites are Caron and Vanna’s Lion Brand. Both are super soft and easy to work with and I haven’t found any split strands. I won’t be buying Red Heart anymore as I find it a little bit stiff compared to the other two. Caron has those super One Pounders that I purchase a lot and the many color options on both brands are lovely.

First of all, I love Vanna's Choice yarns. I purchased this colonial blue yarn specifically because of the band on the ball in the Ad. It's the old, or original, band that this yarn had so I thought it would also be the original yarn. Unfortunately the yarn that I received has the newer band on it. Fyi... even though the description states it's 860 109, it is actually 860 109E. The lot number is also different. Too some people that doesnt mean anything, but as a knitter, or crocheter that subtle difference is a lot if you are joining in a project such as a hat or sweater. The 109E is a slightly darker blue than the 109. Fortunately I am doing amigurumi so this yarn will still work for me. I would absolutely buy from this seller again. The only reason I gave it 4, instead of 5, stars is because they should update the picture, and description to reflect the yarn a buyer actually receives so there is no disappointment. Only a person who works with yarns would understand that frustration.
