A mile wide and an inch deep
This book was everything it claims to be. There is a massive amount of information in it. I am on my second time reading it to prepare for the exam. Maybe if I had been involved in IT project management this would have been easier, but it is a lot to learn. That being said, I am enjoying the learning. This book is well written in a logical order and I believe it will be instrumental in preparing for and passing the exam. I like the test questions and bonus questions on the CD too!Con: Some reviews made it sound somewhat humorous and witty in its teaching which was going to be a big plus for me. I usually don't miss a joke, but must have in this one. It is thoughtful, and insightful, but a bit of a dry read. (It's project management though, I should have known... :) )

Very good preparation for the Project+ Certification Exam
I chose this book to help prepare for the Project+ Certification exam. I'm not an IT major, but I found the book and the accompanying CD to be much more helpful in preparing me for the exam than the external website I was directed to by WGU. Love WGU, but I think they should drop the oustide vendor and just use this book for the certification. I never "passed" a preassessment at the website but did really well on the practice assessments included on the CD. Consequently, I didn't really know how I would do on the certification exam. Passed with flyng colors. Everything I needed was in this book.

Great book for CompTIA Project+ 2009 exam
Great Book on Project Management and Study Guide for the CompTIA Project+ exam. Joseph give you project management from the IT perspective. Each chapter in the book ends with a summary of what you learned in the chapter and need to know for the CompTIA Project+ 2009 exam. He also adds chapter related Interviews from people in the business, along with Quiz Questions and Exercises with solutions. The books CD includes a practice exam, PDF version of the book, and other stuff. The book is not dry to read as many project management books can be. It does a good job explaining and uses examples to help in the understanding of concepts. This book will help you pass your exam. Good luck.

Great knowledge
I had to take this class for my accounting degree and wasn't very excited about it until I started reading the book. The information is clear and well organized. While I will never do any IT work, the strategies outlined in approaching organizing any large structural changes to a firm are invaluable. Currently, I have been hired by a company to clean up and organize their accounting systems. Having the knowledge from this book has helped me immensely in how to identify, organize and present the changes needed.

Passes the test
I found IT Project Management a nice read and it provided everything necessary to pass the Project+ exam on the first try. This book was all that I needed to pass, but I did study quite a bit.I did not use any of the materials on the CD except for the practice exam.It is worth noting that there are two versions of the Project+ exam and the one this book applies to the older exam which is not available much longer.I plan to hang on to this book for future reference. Many of the topics match up well with what ITSM teaches.

This book is helpful for taking the exam
I studied all 3 books recommended by CompTIA for the project+ certification exam and I find this one most helpful. It explains things to the right details to make you understand the point. Project management is new to me, but with this book I find those management theories and processes make sense. When things make sense to you, they will be easier to remember. I also appreciate the author put his email address in the book. When I had a question the day before my exam, he responded promptly with a detailed answer. Thanks!

As interesting as a book on IT Project management could be
This book was as interesting as a book on IT Project management could be. There is some humor interjected that keep me reading.I bought this book to assist me in getting stared in formal IT Project Management and the book gave me the foundation that I needed. I cannot speak to how well it would prepare me for the CompTIA Project+ test.I found the authors email address in the book and emailed him with a question, to my surprise, he not only answered, but answered promptly and completely.I recommend this book.

Good book, but not the one to use for the CIW project exam.
This is a well written book for IT project management. I've read most of it and used most the concept, But if you’re going to take the current CIW Project+ Exam you will need more than this book to pass that exam.I do recommend that you find other project management books that deal more with business / manufacturing project management.

Libro muy útil, pero NO venía el CD
El libro es una muy buena referencia para administración de proyectos de IT. Compré la versión en papel porque supuestamente incluía un CD con material adicional, pero no venía ningún CD en el libro. :(
