I originally purchased it because I had an inflamed scalp (which has now calmed down tremendously) I use this once a week with my homemade aloe/coconut milk/avocado hair treatment or a simple oil treatment. My hair has grown from a little under collarbone length to almost touching my armpit! I am so happy that I spent the extra coins!!! Highly recommend for those with low porosity, type 3c/4a curls. My wash&gos and twist outs have never looked better!!My only complaint is you do need to rotate around every now and then because the majority of the steam is in the front and I pin my hair to the top of my head because the steam doesn’t go much further than the dome. Here in the states, dryers are used for treatments instead of steamers and definitely not the same. I'm not saying there are no steamers, you will find them but fewer than hair dryers. I have black 4C hair which loves, moisture, treatments and a good 'Ol' steaming is the best for that. So I bought this tried and the steamer works great, produces the right amount of steam, easy to assemble, clean and store. I bought this to fit on my counter and I put a high chair underneath and it works great. Highly recommend if you are looking to invest in a portable steamer that does the job.Secondly, I loved the multipurpose use for a face-steamer. I love to invest in self-care and steaming my face is something I do once a month or more if I have time. The facial steamer piece works ok and the only reason I did not give 5 stars is that wish the steam was as thick as the hair steamer. Takes longer to steam my face but I love the essential oil add option which I use with my favorite essential oils. When I use a pot of boiling hot water and just cover my head with a towel, my face steams better than the piece on this steamer but this is much safer I guess. I love the product. Use it on myself and my 14 year old daughter.
