Great little pen!
Love this cheap little pen. Got it with a medium nib and it just glides across the cheap looseleaf paper I use for journaling. Writes better than sos e of my more expensive pens. very easy to eyedropper, no o ring needed.

Inexpensive fountain pen that puts out a lot of ink
I just started getting back into fountain pens recently. Previously, I'd only used a different brand's calligraphy pens and while they write well on the first or second use, the ink always dries up since I don't do Calligraphy EVERY day. This one is the least expensive (non-disposable) I've tried by far, and I actually really like it! I've realized I like "wet" fountain pens that put out a lot of ink and this one does not disappoint. The line is nicely bold and the ink doesn't bleed even on cheap notebook paper. I don't mind the smooth grip - another thing I figured out was that with my small hands, I tend to grip the pen closer to the nib than some people might, and I appreciate that there is NOT a ridge on the edge digging into my finger. The nib is also fairly short compared to other pens, which helps with small hands, too. If you're looking for an inexpensive way to get into fountain pens, I highly recommend, but NOTE: this is a medium-point pen, and a lot of the ones for sale here are Fine or Extra Fine nibs, which I've read can be scratchy.

Better to get the Plaisir
Great pen, but cracked; better to buy the Plaisir instead. Either one will go for months without drying out.

This is my pick for affordable and ultra smooth pens
This is a very smooth pen to write with. I think it feels very nice to hold and just glides on the page. It might even be too smooth. Some comparable pens for this price range would be the pilot kakuno. I think this may be a better experience if you want it to feel super smooth as the kakuno has some scratchiness but I would say its up to preference. It has a nice weight to it and good ink flow. It is a nice size and easy to use. I used the platinum carbon ink with this pen and it is a great combination.

Dependable!
An inexpensive fountain pen that is dependable. It sits on a shelf in the store after being shipped who knows thousands of miles, open it up and it writes, first shot. It is one of my favorite pens before a number of more expensive pens I have. It’s inexpensive enough you can toss it in trash if you hate it but you won’t.

Good price but scratchy writing experience
I don't regret this purchase, but had heard a lot more hype than it lives up to. For the price, it's hard to beat, but we need to remember that price. You get around what you pay for, which might be above average for this pen, but by paying more, the lamy safari has a much better writing experience. The plastic body of this pen isn't very comfortable, and the nib feels scratchy on paper where other pens glide. I think this pen is best for artists because it looks cheap and would not be a good EDC in a professional setting. For doodling, it's great, but even writing notes wasn't my favorite because it is slippery and uncomfortable for longer sessions. I would just hate for someone to try fountain pens for the first time, get this one because it's so cheap and then decide they hate the experience. This pen has specific uses but I would get it later rather than earlier on your journey.

Medium nib is smooth and wet
I converted this to an eyedropper fill right away which gives you tons of ink storage capacity. It came with a cartridge but I saved that for emergency use when traveling. The nib is very smooth. Writes with just the right amount of wetness. Highly recommend as a starter pen - great performance and cheap price! Alternatively, it's a great give away pen as well.

First time with a fountain pen
I've never used a fountain pen in my life so I didn't know what to expect. I wanted the pen to use with my Line and Wash Watercolor paintings. I did my research and knew I needed a pen with waterproof ink. Watercolor sites rate this pen highly. I could not figure out if the ink was waterproof but what the heck, six bucks, give it a try. And in the end the ink bled all over my paper when I tried to paint over it, even after 24 hours of drying time. I've looked and can't find ink associated with this pen that says anything about being water proof or water resistant. So I'm not giving the pen any bad review because it didn't work out for my particular need. As a pen I really enjoy using it and will continue to do so.

High quality
I read online that this is a very high quality inexpensive pen that fountain pen experts use for everyday. It writes very well and I received two in perfect condition and quickly.

Preppy fountain pen
The preppy fountain pen is excellent. I would recommend this pen as a good purchase. Why did you choose this product over others?: I have many different pens and this pen is particularly good.

Best value fountain pen
An absolutely superb writing instrument for less than $15. The cap for this fountain pen is the best sealing cap for any fountain pen. This is the second one that I have owned, I have left one sitting around for months and it never dry starts. I wish I could get one of these that had a piston filled shaft so I didn't have to buy refills. That is my only complaint, is that I have to buy proprietary refills. That being said the refills for the platinum preppy are much bigger than standard fountain pen refills. Top notch great bang for the buck
