I’ve been using this VEVOR water distiller for almost two weeks, and I’ve been extremely impressed. I bought it primarily to make water for my carnivorous plants and my cool mist ultrasonic humidifier, both of which benefit from very pure water, and it has exceeded my expectations. My tap water is very hard and measures around 200 ppm with a TDS meter. This distiller consistently produces water at just 2 ppm, which is outstanding and exactly what I was hoping for. I was also pleasantly surprised by how quiet it is. I expected the fan to be much louder, but it’s quieter than I anticipated and not bothersome at all. Another surprise was the speed. It distills water much faster than I expected, making it easy to keep up with watering my growing collection of carnivorous plants while also supplying distilled water for my humidifier. The included glass collection pitcher is excellent quality. It’s thick, sturdy, and feels much nicer than a plastic container. I also appreciate the stainless steel interior, which gives me confidence in the overall build quality. After nearly two weeks of regular use, I have zero complaints. It’s easy to operate, produces consistently low-TDS water, and has performed flawlessly. If you need distilled water for carnivorous plants, ultrasonic humidifiers, aquariums, or simply high-quality drinking water, this is an excellent choice. Highly recommended! I would definitely buy it again.

Great distiller. I love the auto shut off function since I run it at night because it’s a little loud. I’ve used the distiller for about nearly 8 months and it still working well. According to the water test we had performed on the house water, it reduced the TDS from over 200 to 4 (0 being pure water). Needless to say, I’m impressed with that. There is little to no hard water build up on the humidifiers we use the water in and the nugget ice tastes better than before. The distiller is a great buy if you use a lot of distilled water (also quite easy to use and clean). I’d recommend buying a larger tank like the one in the picture with a pour spout to more easily distribute the water wherever you need it.

Yeah, it's kinda priced competitively and some brand I'm not familiar with, but it seems to work well, as the other reviews suggest. I bought this based on the reviews and was not disappointed. The fan on top is a bit noisy, but it's fan noise and only lasts about 3½hrs, so I don't have any trouble sleeping while I hear it running in the kitchen. I use this for our humidifier in the few weeks of winter in Texas when the outside air is extra dry after being heated to room temperature inside the house. I assume the distiller is successfully removing all of the minerals and sediment from the water because we have no problem with deposits from the humidifier running in our bedroom. I'm tempted to drink it when I no longer need to use it for the humidifier. When I've tasted it, it tasted a little sterile, but not bad. And, if you're the kind of person who likes to sniff the potty before you flush, your gonna want to give the main unit after it finished running - if I was inclined to drink Texas tap water, before, this probably would have cured me of that desire. Maintenance has been a breeze. I pretty much abuse this thing. I would run it until it automatically shuts off when I go to bed and when I leave for work. Sure, the sediment sticks to the stainless steel tank, but no matter how many cycles I've run through it, letting water boil with the included citric acid is sooo easy and it cleans the tank right up. I've wiped it down with a paper towel between cycles before I refill the tank, but I'm not sure it makes any difference and may be hurting the tank for all I know (I don't see any indication of damage). Word to the wise: as the instructions suggest, don't taste the water that may come out while boiling the citric acid in the water - it's nasty and the acid might still be in the water because it kinda hurt my throat a little. 🤣 I use a cup under the spout to catch the cleaning water because I didn't want to contaminate the water pitcher. But, you don't have to run the whole tank through the system - just get the water to a boil (you'll know when it starts to come out). I've not had any issues with the seal - it works like a champ. The prepper tendencies in me like the idea of being able to clean up the clean up the tap water pretty well. It's already pretty satisfying to see the stinky stuff leftover after the unit shuts off. I'd recommend this to sometime I care for. 👍

One star off for the terrible instructions. I bought this Vevor water distiller to purify water for use in my Vevor humidifier and sinus and face steamer. I went to YouTube for better guidance on correctly setting up and running the Vevor Water Distiller because the instructions that came with the unit are very poorly worded. The packaging was great. It was padded very well and arrived in perfect condition with a small plastic bottle of citric acid that is used for the first “curing” process before actually using the distiller, the electric cable, and 3 additional carbon filters (one was already installed in the outlet nozzle). Following the YouTube video (after re-reading the instructions a few times), I stirred 2 tablespoons of the citric acid in 1 liter of tap water, stirring it so it was completely dissolved (based on one other person’s tip) and poured it into the main body, mounted the top body, and plugged everything in properly making sure the top body was securely settled. Placed the bottle with the other part of the outlet under what I’ll call the spigot and turned on the distiller. It took a little over 10 minutes for it to begin producing drops and I let it continue for about 30 minutes. After letting the machine cool for 20 minutes, I discarded the boiled citric acid water, rinsed the bottle, the INSIDE of the main body with clean water and wiped dry the top body with clean paper towels. Now I’m running it for a full bottle (4 liters) of pure distilled water. It took 37 minutes to begin producing the first drops of fresh water so be patient. The design is perfect for my very small kitchen counter space. The noise level is very low, barely noticeable to me. I cannot speak about the taste yet as it is still processing the water. But of course it’s going to be flatter than regular tap water so I’ll be adding healthy electrolytes for improved taste AND because of my health requirements. Do your research on the health benefits of distilled water and why you may or may not need to replace the minerals removed by the distillation process. The machine seems durable and solid. It’s plastic and stainless steel. BE WARNED: The outer body does get hot! Do not allow pets or children near the machine while it’s running or for at least 10 to 20 minutes AFTER use to prevent burns and/or scalding. I will update after I’ve tasted the water. ~~~~~~~~~~ UPDATE: December 20, 2025 - I’ve used the VEVOR Water Distiller several times since I received it and am very happy with its performance and quality. I didn’t expect so much mineral residue to be in our building’s water and was actually horrified to see what remained in the unit! To think me and my cat are ingesting this! When I get a chance I’m going to take pictures of it to show building management and maintenance. Maybe there’s a way they can economically upgrade the main water system to at least reduce what we’re getting. (Makes me wonder if any of that is carcinogenic.) WATER TASTE: Some others related that the water tastes flat after being distilled. Maybe that’s due to the type of water they’re being supplied where they live. I find that, though it’s not *as* refreshing as alkalinized water, mine (chilled) is actually nice. However, my primary use is for my VEVOR humidifier to further better maintain the evaporative filters I use in it - trying to minimize scale buildup they get from the plain tap water. [A NOTE: The tap water I’m using is filtered with a Brita Water Filter faucet system PRIOR to being distilled in the Vevor Water Distiller. No judgement whatsoever against Brita. Our water here is just that bad where certain things cannot be filtered out by that method.] After distilling water and allowing the unit to cool down for about 15, it must be run again for 30 minutes using the citric acid dissolved in one liter of hot water. This cleans all the residue left behind and protects the stainless steel surfaces. Once that’s finished you simply rinse the inside of the unit with fresh water and wipe the top and bottom bodies dry with a soft cloth. SUGGESTION: Don’t let the unit run fully dry. I let mine run 3 hours and 10 minutes (after it begins dripping water into the bottle that came with it) to leave some water in the unit. I find doing that prevents the boiled out residue from sticking to the surface and allows the citric acid to clean better. I love this distiller and will definitely be using it every day.

I've been using this for about a month and a half. -- updated; have been using for 6 months now. It distills about a quart per hour, as advertised. The citric acid that comes with the machine seems to have some fragrance in it, so I would recommend only using that to clean the liner after a run. Don't add it to the water before distilling. It is easiest to clean if you don't let it boil until dry. There is no guidance on when to change the charcoal packets, but it's probably only meant to filter out any aromatic pollutants that might be in your tap water. How often to change will depend on your local supply. I haven't changed one yet, and the finished water quality is still great. I haven't had any leaks or failures, yet. The gasket is effective and does not make it difficult to put the top on and off. (Be careful taking the top off after a distillation run or when adding water. It will vent steam, and it will scald you quickly!) Oddly enough, the little metal piece that is supposed to sit on top of the catch-jug is too tall, and will make the jug not fit under the discharge spout when placed on a level surface. I have set the distiller on a 1/2" cutting board, and the jug on the counter, and that works well enough. Other commenters have said they simply don't use it. Water takes an amazing amount of heat to distill, so be ready for that. This thing puts off a lot of heat while it's working. I'm usually pretty hard to impress, but overall, but I would say that this thing is a pretty good product for the money. There are others out there with timers or ways to add water during a run, but the added features cost more. If all you want is a simple way to distill water, this one will do it for you. Update: After six months and a couple hundred gallons of water, it is finally starting to fail. Stainless steel does not like chlorine, and my water has chlorine in it. This, plus the heat cycling, is causing pitting and corrosion fatigue cracking in the bottom of the pot. I'm sure the times I accidentally let it boil dry accelerated the failure. The cost of buying another one and running it is still cheaper than buying distilled water by the gallon from the grocery store.

I've owned multiple distillers now, including 2 of Vevor's model YMK40230 (1750 watt, 1 gal). Let me be clear: you don't want Vevor's YMK40230. You want this one, the YMK60208. This one won't burn your house down. First, let's talk about the Vevor model YMK40230 with the fancy red paint or chrome finish. It operates almost identically to the YMK60208. It only holds 1 gallon of water and otherwise looks nearly identical. The difference is how many watts of power it pulls. It pulls in a whopping 1750 watts. A 20-amp appliance circuit loaded to 80% per NEC is 1920 watts. An appliance running a continuous duty load in excess of 3 hours must be calculated at 125%. The 1750w appliance squeaks in at 2 hours 43 minutes. Still, that's a 91% load for nearly the max amount of time. While this may not pop a 20-amp breaker, it will stress the hell out of your receptacle and wiring. That includes the power cord for the unit. That's the problem. On my 1750w units, I melted the IEC C13 ends of several power cords under the load. That includes heavy duty 12ga power cords of my own off of data center grade server equipment. The load it pulls it just too much for a C13/C14 connection. The 1750w model is absolutely a fire hazard and should be recalled. Enter, the 900w Vevor YMK60208. This unit works great. It pulls roughly half of the 1750w unit. It can distill 1.5 gallons in 5.5 hours. As compared to the 1750w unit's .75 gallons in 2h 43m. The 900w unit clocks in at nearly the same speed as the higher wattage unit without the risk of burning your house down. When filling the unit, stop at the FILL line. The 1750w unit could be overfilled and run 9 extra minutes without overflowing the carafe. The 900w unit fills the carafe with the water volume at the fill line. Don't overfill it or it will run over. If you want to filter empty water jugs with your newly distilled water, you're going to need a funnel. Search Amazon for "Set of 4 Funnels for Filling Bottles BPA Free Kalave". Kalave is the brand. It's a set of funnels that snap into each other. You want the largest and the second largest at the same time. Leave them snapped together and pour into the smaller one. This will give the larger funnel room to breathe when you pour in the water. Stop an inch or so below the bottom of the neck, before the tasty water rises up into the funnel, to prevent it from overfilling. The distilled water tastes great. There's no unusual flavor at all. It's just water without minerals. My municipal water supply is all from wells and it is among the hardest water I've ever encountered. It kills coffeemakers in 3-4 years at most. I am now only running distilled water through my coffeemakers (drip pot, Keurig, or Nespresso) as well as in my countertop icemaker. I don't need to clean them anymore. No more batches of hot brewed white vinegar. They no longer have any hard water issues. I wish I'd done this years ago. I could have saved money on coffeemakers. There isn't any trick in installation. The unit will pump quite a bit of how air out the top. That's fine in the winter time. Look at it like a 900w space heater running in the kitchen. During a Midwest summer, that's 900w of heating that my AC doesn't need to compete with. My solution is to run it on the porch. I run two batches through it over a summer day and never heat up my house. See the photo below for an example. My only design suggestion for Vevor would be to add handles to the sides of the unit. It is extremely hard for my parents to carry their unit from the sink to the counter when filled. At this point, they fill a pitch multiple times and pour water in that way. It wouldn't be challenging at all for Product Engineering to add simple handles to the distiller. They don't ever have to be big; they could be slim like slow cooker handles. Anything is better than nothing. I highly recommend the 900w unit, and I highly recommend avoiding the 1750w unit.

This is actually the 2nd VEVOR distiller I am purchasing. I purchased my first one almost 2 years ago and it is still working like a champ even after I accidentally dropped it and the bottom plastic cracked on it. I use this to distill my water because I do everything possible to get my water to be H2O and nothing else. Distillation, for me, is a key step in this process. Setup is a breeze there's not much to it really just the reservoir, the lid, and the 1 gallon jug the distilled water goes into. There is this metal spout that you're supposed to put on top of the water jug, however, I highly advise against using that. I had it happen where the spout from the lid and the metal piece on top of the jug were not aligned properly and it resulted in water leaking everywhere. I tossed that metal piece into a drawer and just make sure the spout is aimed correctly so the water will drip into the jug. The jug has a really big hole so it's not terribly difficult to set it up without the metal guide piece. If you're going to use this in your house I would suggest putting in a room that is as far away from where you wish to be as possible because this thing will generate a lot of heat for the around 4 hours it takes to distill a gallon of water. My suggestion is set it up in a garage or something like that. Although a lot of stuff gets removed from distillation there is always some stuff that gets into the finished product as some contaminants have the same or even a lower boiling point than water does, so I suggest using some kind of filter afterward. I use a Zero Water filter for this. It does come with some cheap charcoal filter packs that you're supposed to install in the metal spout of the lid, but those don't seem to do much. I've noticed that without using the zero water there's a certain smell and taste to the water that isn't awful, but it's just odd and if I use the zero water that is removed. Sometimes I'll even filter the water before distilling it and then again after just to help keep the distiller clean. This brings me to the next thing, cleaning out all the gunk left behind. They give you a little bit of cleaning powder which is actually just citric acid. I got 2lbs for about $15 on here and it lasts me about a year. Could last much longer if you don't distill a gallon or two a day like I do. To clean this things you put the water a little higher than you see stuck on gunk and then just add in a tablespoon at a time while boiling the water with the lid off. Wait 20 mins if there's still a lot of stuck on gunk add another tablespoon and wait another 20 mins until you can see it's all clean. That's really it, this thing is very easy to use and like I said I've had one for over 2 years now so from what I can tell VEVOR makes a quality product and everywhere else I've looked for a distiller usually tries to charge $100+ for a basically identical device. Do not let the cheap price scare you away this thing is quality and will get the job done reliably for the foreseeable future!

VEVOR YMK60208 Stainless Steel The unit arrived nicely packed although, the stainless steel cladding has a couple small/sharp dents/dings on the upper rear portion. Nothing that should affect the performance or usability of the distiller. It works as advertised and is very easy to use. The "Auto-Off" feature works well, as it turns off automatically before the tank is completely dry, leaving perhaps a little less than 1/2 inch of water at the bottom. This prevents scorching and burning of the leftover minerals from the water. This is a feature I like very much. It also came with an "activated charcoal & nozzle assembly" so you can filter the finished distilled water through the charcoal filter prior to it going into your catch container. I don't bother with it. Came with 4 charcoal filter pouches. A full batch [1.6 gallons / 6 liters] takes 5 hours and 30 minutes or close to that. The Glass Container... I bought the unit that came with the glass container. I would advise against getting the glass one. The stainless steel bands that surround the glass container are too loose and flimsy, and attach to a rather cheap plastic handle that will never be able to lift a full container of water weighing more than 14 pounds. The stainless steel lid that comes with the glass unit is meant to screw onto the glass mouth but the lid is too big. So, it doesn't work as a fitment lid, but it does cover the container while filling so, I guess it does work for that... kinda. Also, the glass container doesn't have a pour spout so, it's like emptying a pot of water. You WILL need a funnel to pour your water into a 1 Gallon water container for the fridge. idk. > I give the glass container and parts a 1.5/10. I've only used it twice and the Distiller does work very well, which is important to me. I can improvise on the rest of it. I measured the PPM which is THE most important thing in all this. Both times I get 2ppm which is the same as most distilled water I [used to] buy at the market. Once I found 3 gal at 1ppm! YAY! I can't remember the brand name, sry. All in all, so far, I'm happy with the VEVOR YMK60208
