Maybe it was all girl-power show nostalgia from my 90's childhood that made me pick this up.Controls: 3/5 Easy to use, mostly intuitive, but frustrating as no instructions are included and certain actions (galloping/answering cell phone) are not obvious. The scroll wheel of the mouse *must* be used, making this unplayable on many laptops. View is adjusted by mouse while WASD are used for movement, but unfortunately the camera slowly, but tenaciously drips forward whenever you walk or run, meaning you must constantly juggle walking with calculated mouse nudging.Camera: 2/5 A little wacky to focus, especially on a moving object, but not motion-sickness inducing. The worst of it is, as previously mentioned, the dipping of the camera while moving.Characters: 2/5 *sigh* The characters here were obviously chosen to fit girl stereotypes into a Breakfast Club-like"well-rounded" team. We have the princess, the "rebel", the brain, and skater chick. who does machines. Also included are; requisite bland love interest with bad hair, the stuck-up girl to serve as minor antagonist, creepy guy who is evil, and a janitor who apparently has more responsibilities as the school headmaster.Environments: 2/5 Very linear gameplay means that cannot wander about. Areas are small, do what they are supposed to do, but don't wow in any way. This game may have been improved had it used scene-based environments, (like used the Nancy Drew games) rather than the full 3D.Gameplay: 3/5 This is a game geared for younger girls, given this caveat, it is passably fun. Talking horses, magic, and saving the world give this game just enough charm to make it likable. Game is very short and perhaps the most linear I have ever played, as you are dumped from one location to the next upon finishing your tasks. I have little problem with linearity, as it gives it the feeling of playing through an interactive book. The main reason I have to give this three stars is that, if you are a young girl, or one at heart, who liked horse books with a bit of magic, then this game will probably make you feel right at home, even in spite of its flaws. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I love this game so much. *by S***N on Reviewed in the United States πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ on September 25, 2010* Yes, this game is very easy and the controls aren't explained (you can use "shift" to run while using wasd, and Pg up/Pg down for go through the stuff on the right side of the screen, took me forever to figure that out), but this is one of my favorite games. It has great music and I just love how everything looks. I've played these games a hundred times and still think they're awesome.The story is neat, too. It unfolds more in the later games, but for now I'm just content to ride around on my blue-and-white horse (yep, blue!) and run away from bad guys.If you like a challenge, you'll probably hate this game.
