SM210, 10-Year Sealed Battery Smoke Alarm with Slim Profile Design, 1-Pack

Good product, good service. I think I got a rogue faulty detector as it started beeping later that day with no smoke present.

Purchased and installed on 4/1/26. Had previously purchased similar model which certainly did not last 10 years but stayed with this brand since all brands had questionable reliability. This was a mistake! On the 18th of May around midnight it started beeping. After checking throughout house for signs of smoke I decided it was a malfunction and disabled it. Forget the 10 year sealed battery, it did not last 2 months! Similar complaints about the Kidde but I will get one that I can replace batteries and not depend on the “ 10 year sealed” battery. For something so important I do not understand the poor reliability from two supposedly dependable companies!

Easy to install. Slightly bigger than the one I replaced. I never seem to get 10 years out of these sealed 10 year batteries. Its ok though this brand performs well and I don't have to think about it again for at least 5 years.

Bought in tandem with another First Alert detector. Both easy to install.

This unit is turned on by special tabs when you twist it onto the mounting bracket. Unless you have that exact mounting bracket, it won't work with other First Alert mounting brackets. Also, once it is turned on, it's on. If you turn it off, it can never be turned on again. I don't know why they make them like that. The whole thing seems kind of stupid.
