The coat is thin and you will need some type of liner for your baby to have on underneath it to make sure for your baby is warm and keeps warm while out in the cold, and if you have cold winters like I do here in NYC you might also want to make sure you don't forget a blanket (or 2) as well. The coat is a little big for my daughter but she also was a preemie at birth and is smaller than the average child her age and she wears size 6-9 months and that is the size that I ordered for her and it's just a little big on her but it's a good thing considering I will have to put on her fleece lining with the coat because it is so thin.
