I wouldn’t recommend these in a heated situation as they will melt. Concrete is not great in fire either unless you use heat resistant aggregate or crushed brick and heat resistant cement (Outdoor oven cement). If the mixture is fairly dry it shouldn't need fibres just keep the surface damp and protected from sunshine and rain whist it cures. You could use tile or brick to create shape with mortar (using heat resistant cement) Alex

Do these come through when rubbing up render?

I've used them in multi finish and self leveling compound 🤷🏻♂️ I've had no problem 👍👍👍

A small hand full sprinkled into the mixer as it's rotating to ensure it does not clump.

As I need a smooth clean surface I wonder if I add the fibers will they appear on the concrete surface?

No, not so far. We used these fibres for a cement pond lining six months ago, and apart from the smooth finish we have no cracks appearing or any other visible problems.
