A great little investment...!
We bought several flashcard sets, and these were the winners. Yes, I agree with the other reviewers, it is disappointing that the cards are pictures of toys. However, once you're over that there are many pluses: eg these are ultimately photographs not drawings; the words and pictures are well separated so, once the words are recognised, you can cut them away from the pictures and play matching games; there are lots of suggestions on the back listing things you can do with your child to prompt discussion about each card. With the help of these cards and obviously lots of general parental stimulation, my baby could name pretty much every card in the pack by the time she was around one and recognised and named lots of the letters in the words. She's now 16 months, knows her alphabet and speaks in sentences. And STILL loves playing with her cards. I think we have quite a few years left to explore the possibilties with them. I'd buy them again.

Disappointed with the flashcards
We purchased the Baby Webster Flash cards for our 15 month old twins and were really disappointed. The pictures featured on the cards are pictures of soft toys (i.e. pig, lamb, dinasaur etc.) and the train, telephone etc. are also toys. In order to help our babies recognise objects and learn the words associated with those objects, we expected to have real life images pictured on the cards. Unfortunately neither the description of the product nor the outer packaging provided any indication of what the pictures would look like. We had to buy the product and open it, only to realise that they were unsuitable for the purpose we required them. Whatsmore our twins weren't particularly impressed or interested in the cards; on the other hand if we even show them a magazine with pictures of real life animals etc. they are extremely interested and captivated.

Baby Webster Flash Cards
I purchased the flash cards for my 10m baby; they're aimed at 9m+.The pictures are disappointing, considering other baby einstein products we have purchased I expected more. The pictures do little to capture the imagination or attention of our little one.I think they will be useful for an older age group, e.g. 4+ as the names of the objects are produced in 4 (I think) different languages on the reverse side of the card and each name is phonetically spelt to aid pronounciation. So a good buy if your little one is learning e.g. French / Spanish etc....
