I found a YouTube video on replacing the fan on my HP G7 laptop. Got the fan and heat sink grease on Amazon. The fan is under the mother board, so you will need to remove components to get to the fan. I just took my time and followed the instructions on the video. The fan fit and works.

I'm sure my time is up for a refund, because I waited too late to install it, or at least, try to install it! Got laptop apart to find out the fan did not fit. So, I just cleaned the old fan up and am in the process of putting laptop back together.

Swapping out a laptop fan is never fun, but this one fit perfectly. This will keep my trusty old laptop doing its job quietly and cool for another few years.

The device itself is easy to install but getting to the fan on the HP G4-1104 is not for the faint of heart. Took me about 2 hours total and the PC is back to full operation. This replacement fan fit perfectly and is operating as expected. NOTE: You will need thermal compound for the cooling system. I found it locally at a large autoparts chain for $2.50. It's about $9 here on Amazon.

The fan came damaged and without box, in the cellophane only.
