**Q: How big are the pieces, and how hard? I'm looking for something vegan for small older dogs, so need small pieces that aren't too tough to chew.**
A: They are small pieces..they are hard like normal dry dog food ...you could probably soften with a little water or broth if you need to...I blend this product with v-dog which is bigger pieces. Both products are very good! Both my 16 year old lab-boxer mix and my 3 year old basset hound are thriving on this mix and loving it! I also add pet flax oil by barleens to their meals.

**Q: Odd that the amount of protien is NOT listed???**

**Q: Anybody else notice a very odd/funky smell on this dog food?**
A: I haven’t noticed a off/funky smell.  I can only feed this to my dog due to meat allergies and all other vegan options cause her anal gland to flare up.

**Q: Why vitamin D2 as opposed to D3?**
A: Most but not all D3 is animal derived and this is a vegan dog food. There is one vegan D3 on the market called Vitashine derived from lichens. Dogs can be poisoned by too much vitamin D so check recommended amounts if you choose to supplement their food.

We had used the ocean flavor before you changed the packaging and I don’t know if you’ve done away with the ocean flavor because I can’t find it on Amazon anymore and this one doesn’t actually have a flavor that I can see mentioned. But she loved the ocean flavor and liked a lot the non-ocean flavor. So I was worried of what kind of flavor this one was going to have and whether she would like it or not. She’s not a big kibble eater, she mainly gets her canned food for dinner and she’ll nibble a little bit when she first wakes up of the kibble but when I put this in her bowl mid-day, just to see whether she was gonna like it or not, I was very surprised that she took one sniff and immediately started chowing down! For me personally, I was impressed in the richer coloring. I also like that the bites are a little bit smaller because my Chihuahua only weighs 8 1/2 pounds and she’s a senior with teeth missing so small bites are very crucial to her being able to eat kibble. She didn’t have any trouble chewing it (I could hear it crunching), and she ate quite a bit for her. So I’m very pleased and will definitely continue to order this. I have it on the subscribe and save now. The only thing I’m not happy about, and I’m sure I’m not alone, is that now the bag is a 1/2 pound less than it used to be and the price is relatively the same if not a little bit more than the 4 pound bag of the ocean flavor. I know times are tough but I wish you would go back to the 4 pounds and keep it the same price. But it’s definitely a four-star vegan dog food! Because even the best is not good enough if they won’t eat it. 😉
