Good Quality --- BUT MAKE SURE IT'S REALLY WHAT YOU NEED
This is a nicely made brass valve, and I have no complaints about it. There were no burrs or defects. BUT, the manufacturers of the refrigerant cans are now making the cans so you can take off the valve without all the remaining refrigerant coming out. There is a little silicone flap seal in the can, and the valve has to push that inward for the refrigerant to flow. THIS ONE DOES NOT WORK ON SELF-SEALING CANS. That's not the seller or manufacturer's fault, because they make it clear that this is for puncture-type cans. But they do not work on the self-sealing cans. For the self-sealing cans you need a valve that opens the seal with a FLAT tip, not a pointed one. If you use this on a self-sealing can no refrigerant will flow. The valves for self-sealing cans look almost exactly like this one, but with a flat plunger, not a pointed one. They're available here as well for the same price.

Leaked, but excellent customer service.
Update: I was contacted by the seller after leaving a 1-star review and offered a full refund for this defective item. I used that refund to purchase a set of o-ringed SAE flare caps to seal the leak on this tap, and thereby managed to save most of the remaining refrigerant in the can from just leaking away over the next couple weeks. The final outcome with long-term containment of the valuable refrigerant is the same as if the tap had functioned correctly, so I'm happy. I can't speak to the quality of valve seat inside the next tap that you'll order, but I'm inclined to give it the benefit of the doubt, given the seller's response to standing behind the product. I would purchase again, but be prepared to check for leaks and be prepared to do something about them if the value of the refrigerant exceeds the value of the can tap (ie not just a little 134a can from Walmart). Original unedited review: This tap “works” in that it can puncture the can and hook securely to a refrigerant hose. The problem is that there valve doesn’t seal correctly in the off position. After it’s disconnected from the gauge manifold, it leaks refrigerant to the atmosphere because of some problem with the valve seat. This defeats most of the purpose of this device, in that it is wasting refrigerant that is more expensive than the can tap itself, and there’s no way to replace the tap until all the remaining refrigerant in the can is lost. If you plan on always using the whole charge at once, maybe this is ok. Otherwise, avoid.

Works better than OEM
My OEM valve broke while attaching the adapter to use my gauges. It was a cheap two-piece, aluminum valve that barely had threads. This is a solid one-piece cast brass valve that has the correct fitting to connect to the gauge set. I recommend it and if this gets caught in a nuclear holocaust and has to be replaced, I'll get this one again.

Fits can to cheap set of gauges. Otherwise gauges are useless.
This fits the can to the cheap set of gauges. I have a new gauge set and all was well until I tried to attach a can of R123a and found it was a different thread. A--- Z--- auto and the Bog O, only have one style valve, they do not fit the gauges. This is needed otherwise you pull a vacuum and have to stop. I did ruin the valve I had on the can, wasted a can, and had a fit until I found this and got it next day, with a separate set of brass adapters.

Good buy
Easy to install on my gauges and seals tightly. Works perfectly for the cheap cans of Walmart refrigerator. I've had one on a partially used can for several months now, and it hasn't leaked out.

Not self sealing can friendly.
Nice can tap, doesn't feel cheap. Nice that it comes with an adapter to work with multiple hose connections. My biggest complaint and reason for 3 stars is the can tap does not work well with the new self sealing refrigerant cans unfortunately. I had 3 cans and could only get one to work with this specific adapter.
