I just moved into this house and kept having one of the very old sensors short out. I noticed it had been taped together with electrical tape. I found these replacements and thought I’d give it a try. The hardest part was figuring out how to remove the old sensors from the bracket. You just have to tap them off. Then you release the old wires from the tabs. Then create a loop with the wires and wrap them around the screws of the new ones. I could not believe they worked in the first try. Tools needed were Phillips screwdriver, wire cutters and needle nose pliers. The instructions which came with the package were terrible which is why I’m providing more info. Very easy and I saved $175 by not calling a garage door service!

We have an older Genie garage door opener that has completely stopped working due to two ancient, defective door sensors. In our case, the door stopped working completely due to a sensor malfunction. I thought we would need to replace the entire door opener with a newer model, but decided to give these a try. There was nothing unexpected, except that they worked the first time. They were pretty easy to install, work just as good as an OEM part, and took about 10 minutes to install. Although I wasn't sure they would work, I was glad I tried. Definitely recommended as a first plan if you are having issues with old equipment.

Worked perfectly! Easy to install

Worked exactly as the OEM, fit in the OEM brackets without any modification. The brackets shipped with these were slightly thinner than the original brackets, but still looked thick enough to hold up OK. These sensors worked no problem though, zero issues and were a plug & play replacement for the faulty original sensors. Have had them installed for 5 months and no issues so far
