Great Lawn Tool
My husband was very excited to receive for Father's Day gift as he has been wanting a small battery operated edger for the yard and miscellaneous small shrub trimming. He uses it often and LOVES it. Warning, blades are VERY sharp and is very easy to forget and reach in front. Despite our warning to a neighbor who purchased after seeing the new "toy" started cutting and did cut his finger when utilizing. So be careful! But, GREAT tool for the yard. Battery life is excellent and amazed my hubby how many uses out of one charge. He loves that there is a battery indicator. Only thing I was dismayed at, the price of the battery pack/charger vs the tool itself, since we only wanted this one. BUT, if you have an arsenal of Makita tools that uses same battery, it is worth the versatility.

Excellent trimmer.
A quick trimmer for lawn details, provided you don't mind bending or kneeling. I wish an extension handle was available as is for my Gardena equivalent. Fits current Makita 18V batteries from their power and garden tool lines. Makita is a brand I've had good luck with, going back to the early 80s.

Much better than weed whacker
I got this to see if it would be easier to use than a string trimmer. It is a lot easier. One star lost for how the bottom guard tends to get caught in the grass. Battery lasts forever. It really can cut fast. You will be the slow link, not the machine. Takes just a few minutes now to go all over my property's borders and I don't have to put on visor and all the protective gear that comes with the weed whacker. I don't even get sprayed with debris!
