Picked up the 1000GPH version for our koi pond after our old plastic pump housing finally cracked from sitting outside through a couple winters. Wanted something that wasn't going to fall apart the same way, aluminum housing was the main selling point for me here over the usual cheap plastic ones you see at this price. Runs noticeably quieter than I expected for something rated commercial, we've got it sitting maybe ten feet from where we eat on the patio and you really have to listen for it. Aeration output seems solid too, the surface of the pond has that nice constant ripple now instead of the sluggish bubbling we had before, and the fish seem more active honestly. Been running it about a month straight, 24/7, no overheating issues even sitting out in direct sun most of the day. Setup was basically plug and play, just ran the tubing out to our airstone and it was going within a few minutes. Only thing I'd flag is the power cord is a bit shorter than I'd like, ended up needing an outdoor extension cord since our outlet isn't close enough, worth checking your setup before ordering if your pump's going to be far from power. Solid, durable pump for the price, would go up a size if we ever expand the pond.

Do not buy this product in India, this will not work as this product runs on 110 - 120 Volt and with 60 Hz frequency, Before buying, I asked the seller if this will run in India and they confirmed it will. Now my electrician confirmed that this cannot be operated with India's 220 Volt and 50 Hz frequency. I did not receive any update from the seller to arrange return of the product. Why are you even displaying this type of product in Amazon which cannot be operated in India. Very much frustrated

So much better than the consumer-grade pumps in the pet shops with plastic housings. This thing has the oomph to run multiple air stones in our pond with plenty of bubble power. The connectivity through the provided metal 6 port manifold is a huge plus. The pump itself is definitely noisier than a typical indoor aquarium air pump, but then, it is more powerful and is built more solidly. It is outside by a pond, where the noise is not objectionable. If it were in the house, I would have to find a way to deaden the sound. I think being inside of a wooden enclosed aquarium stand would take care of the sound level. UPDATE: Be wary of using this pond where it can get wet (as in outdoors by a pond). It just needs some sort of little "roof" over it, so it doesn't get any direct rain on it. Don't block it in. It needs air circulation around it or it will overheat. (I was able to disassemble mine, clean out the corrosion, and solder in a new wire to get it working again).

I am running a mix of four medium and large stones at 4 feet deep and they make the water boil. Pump is very quite as well. Very happy.

Maneja muy buen volumen de aire pero se calienta muy pronto y se apaga a los 20 o 40 minutos de estar trabajando, definitivamente hay que agregarle un ventilador de PC para que la enfríe y trabaje sin ningún problema, el miniventilador me costo 45 pesos y le adapte un eliminador de pared que tenia en casa y de esta manera puede trabajar sin problemas por días aunque estoy usando un timer que la enciende 4nhrs y apaga 4 hrs y así de manera alterna y continua. El vendedor debería advertir de este detalle y se evitaría devoluciones y problemas. No hace tanto ruido como dicen pero definitivamente es para mejor usarla en el exterior pero bien protegida de la intemperie, muy buena compra.
