Temible on Low Heat
This induction cooktop kicks some serious butt when it comes to rapid heating. The fact that it draws from the other burners to give it 100s of watts of a boost definitely makes a huge difference. It gets water boiling almost twice as fast as my last cooktop. I love the induction method of cooking because I'm a klutz and I can't burn myself on the stove, food that spills on the burner doesn't stick and perma-fuse to the stove, and in the dog days of August, it doesnt make my kitchen a zillion degrees. So why only 2 stars? It is TERRIBLE on low heat. Ot is way, way too strong even on 2 or 3. And on the lowest setting it is completely useless. It doesn't work at all on the lowest setting. Forget a low simmer, it goes straight from hot breath on number one, to solar flares on number two. The only reason why I didn't give it one star is because it was easy to install, and it is a pleasure to use when cooking something that needs to be on high heat the whole time. But cooking that requires any nuance? Forget it.
