My child in on the slim side & wears anywhere between a 12-16 depending on how it is made. With that being said, in general children that can wear a 14-16 can wear an adult size small. Keeping in mind my child is going to summer camp this year. I want the shirts to be long enough to tuck in {especially in the front} so when playing sports or other games we need no wardrobe malfunctions. Yet loose enough for room and comfort to move around. I saw reviews that said the tees shrunk and there is a huge difference in what was supposedly a new shirt along side of one that was washed.{ almost half it size? Well, My thought on this that was huh, There is no way! That is just odd and strange. Honestly, I know not too many people will wash a pack of new shirts and leave one out unwashed to compare them. I am one that would just toss them all in the wash at the same time, in cold water and then put into the dryer on the cotton setting if that is what they needed. I normally do not put my child's clothes in the dryer except pajamas and undies. I thought even if they do shrink that much we will still be ok. They will still be long enough for the shirt to get tucked in enough and be on the safe side of the situation. However, I was curious indeed! I just had to put them to the test to see if they will shrink that much. So, I decided to give it a go. I put the light gray one in the wash and then the dryer. Then compared with an unwashed black tee. There is no way in this whole wide world did the other reviewers shirt shrink that much even if they washed in hot water and the highest of high settings in the dryer. The results I got by washing and drying on proper settings of course, It just was not a significant difference in the two of them. If this tiny bit of shrinking bothers you, Perhaps it is best not to put them in the dryer at all. After washing in cold water, start by putting 1 arm through and through the arm holes of the shirt, use your other hand to grab the bottom of the shirt gently but firmly pull and tug the fabric in opposite directions and then hang it up to dry. :-) I hope this helps relieve anyone mind that has doubts of the quality of these tees. They are plenty thick, the price is fantastic and they really DO NOT SHRINK MUCH AT ALL!!!

This is my 2nd time to order Fruit of the loom and so far this 2nd order failed my expectation in terms of the wrong delivered order. For the size small, I choose the assorted colors with RED. And I didn't get the RED one.
