No need to do anything other than follow the directions on the box. Pre-heating the pan is critical and as a recommendation it is worth investing in a heavy metal popover pan. Review: Easy and delicious! - I don’t bake much and had never made popovers. I thought I’d give this mix a try. The box states that it is for “9 servings.” I used a popover pan (USA pan) that I bought on desertcart. The Stonewall Kitchen mix yielded six very large popovers (see photo), plus three smaller popover's (see the brown muffin pan— one popover is missing, because I couldn’t wait to eat one.) The instructions give baking times for regular sized popovers and petite popovers. Both sizes turned out beautifully. Delicious, very puffy, soft and doughy on the inside. I will buy this again. 3/10/25 Update: I ordered this a few times and was always pleased with my purchase. This last order was crushed (desertcart envelope) but the mix itself looks fine (sealed in an unbroken plastic bag). I’m confident the popovers will be terrific again. I saw the same product in a high end chef store yesterday, retailing for $11.00 per box, with a good shelf life (May 2026). I paid more ($12.25 per box) on desertcart. But the shelf life (hidden under a sticker) is the same (May2026). I will continue to buy again on desertcart for the convenience. But if I were buying it as a gift, I’d buy it retail so that the box looks presentable. I haven't tried it yet. But when I tried it before without adustments they didn't rise and popover near as high as mine normally do at sea level with the same mix. **Q: Do i need a mini popvers pan or a large popovers pan? also how many holes? thanks!** A: That depends on what size popover you want to make. One package makes 6 giant popovers or 12 mini popovers. I made 6 giant ones and they were delicious. While I did love the results, I have since been using a from-scratch recipe that came with my Nordicware extra-large popover pan. The pan, BTW, is fantastic. Making popovers from scratch is incredibly easy and about 10 times less expensive. **Q: What additional ingredients do you add to this mix?** A: It's been awhile- probably just eggs, maybe butter and milk. They were delicious. I just tried it from a recipe and the timing was difficult and my popovers didn't even rise. I'm going back to the box. **Q: Can this be baked as a loaf?** A: I doubt it.
