I wouldn't think of using this for quality photos, but if you're just interested in digitizing documents like receipts, contracts, insurance papers, etc, the quality and convenience are well worth buying it. The fact it has no separate power supply required is a big plus - perfect for mobile laptop users. Also nice you can feed-in a variety of paper lengths, unlike many flatbed scanners that only accomodation standard 8.5"x11" letter-size. It also works well with VueScan scanning software, which has nice added features like auto-skew correction, text recognition and a bunch of other good stuff. Biggest drawback is the alignment of the paper being fed-in. It gets better with practice, but you'll still find yourself trying a second attempt to get the scan output better aligned. Also, you wouldn't want to use this one-at-a-time for any large batch scanning - but a few pages at a time are fine. Highly recommend buying a matching zippered hard case to conveniently store the scanner and USB cable. Dust is the enemy of all scanners - especially relevant here if you're transporting it regularly.

I loved this product when it arrived, but only used it a few times and it just stopped working, despite trying new connections, multiple computers. Instructions say to attach USB directly to computer - my MAC OS laptop doesn't have a USB port. Big disappointment. Makes me hesitant to order a replacement.

I love this scanner! I don’t really get the negative reviews. For the price and the functionality you get, it’s amazing. I’m the type of person who does tons of research before I buy most anything. This includes scanners like this. I was fairly hesitant due to some negative reviews, but I decided to take a chance because I really loved how small, compact and minimalistic this was. I am so happy with my purchase. I have a Mac and setup was a breeze. The minimalist design and the tiny footprint is exactly what I was looking for You don’t have to pay for any additional software for it to function (but I do think you have to download their app, which is free… I don’t know if this is an absolute requirement to use the scanner, but I installed their app because it comes with great feature that make it extremely easy to manage scans and save them. I actually love the features that it provides at no cost so I would recommend downloading it… again, it’s FREE) It just does what it’s supposed to do. One thing to notice is that due to its minimal size if you’re a bit of a perfectionist OCD person like myself you have to be a little more careful about how you load each page to ensure the scans are fed evenly. I assume this is an issue with any scanner but even moreso with something that’s as compact as this and doesn’t have the guides to ensure precise feeding. If you’re looking for a compact scanner, that is efficient, effective and easy to use, I would absolutely recommend this.
