Mercer Culinary Renaissance 10-Inch Stainless Steel Carving Knife, Black M23580

Trying to find a well priced carving knife is not as easy as you think, this is an American brand so off I went to the USA to find out more! All in all they have a good name for the lowest price drop forged knife, and yes it is good. It is of a good length, sharp and sturdy. So far it has done well and not just carving cooked meats but also cutting up a whole side of pork for the freezer. Would I buy it again? yes, it is drop forged which means in simple terms it is well made just like the real expensive knives but does not cost a fortune, it is also made of good quality steel (X50 Cr Mo V15) So a good hardness and will keep its edge. Plus it has a full tang so the steel is sandwiched between the handle, and that helps with balance and strength. A Good buy.

Great Knife, very solid and very sharp and has kept its sharpness. Very well packaged and very safe. Beware first time of use until you are used to it..... I managed a small cut the first time I used it. Expensive but well worth it.

changed my opinion on this knife , don't bother , only had it 2 months and its blunt , could not carve my beef on Sunday , only used it 8 times , don't waist your money , better options out there

Ich habe diesen und 4 andere Mercer Messer sowie 6 Wüsthof neulig gekauft. Die Fertigungsqualität und schärfe scheint auf gleichem Niveau wie Wüsthof Classic und Ikon zu sein. Nachdem ich die Mercer Messer bestellt habe sind die preise direkt verdoppelt worden wonach die nicht wirklich günstiger als Wüsthof oder Zwilling sind - keine Ahnung was da los ist. Empfehlenswert sind die auf jeden fall.

It’s sharp, just the way I want my knives. It’s a bit pricey for my budget, but after using it several times, it is well worth it. It’s a good, quality knife.

This purchase was certainly a pleasant surprise. Having some money (but not a lot) left on a gift card given as a wedding present, I decided to get a decent carving knife. Now, most good carving knives are in the hundreds of dollars, so I was a bit suspicious of this one. But, it had some good reviews so I pulled the trigger and ordered it. I've used it a few times since, and I must say it is an outstanding knife at a terrific price. It is sharp (very very sharp), extremely well balanced, and sturdy. It has the feel of a $200 knife, and it cuts through London broil like it was pasta. While this knife may not hold up over time like it's more expensive brothers, it is definitely worthy addition to your kitchen. Especially for the price.

I don't think you can get any better than this. take care of the knife and it will take care of your meat slicing operations for many years. the handle shape is comfortable and functional. the style is very much french as it should be. if you buy a knife cheaper than this you will not get a real french slicer. this is the minimum you need to spend to get professional tools.

The Mercer knives are really nicely made and very sharp, we bought 6-8 variations and are happy with them all. They are just as nice as the Henckels knives that we'had previously, and we feel less-guilty about putting them in the dishwasher. Like all knives, keeping them sharpened correctly is key.
