The true story of the world’s most famous ship is retold in this beautiful book with stunning visuals and a gripping narrative. One fateful night in 1912 the so-called Ship of Dreams turned into a nightmare in the Atlantic Ocean after hitting an iceberg and sinking on its maiden voyage. The tragedy of the Titanic is shown in dramatic original illustrations by award-winning artist Steve Noon. This luxurious liner still has the power to capture public imagination more than any other vessel in history and more than a century later. From being built and setting sail to sinking fast and saving lives, the Titanic is explored and explained in fascinating detail with intricate cutaway scenes and cross-sections. Meet the captain, crew, and passengers from all walks of life who lost their lives or survived the sinking. Discover exactly what happened on the disastrous voyage, the reasons why Titanic sank, and what lessons were learned for the future. Watch the drama unfold as ordinary people became unsung heroes and the supposedly unsinkable ship became an underwater wreck. Whether you’re a history buff or simply seeking help for a school project, this is the ultimate tribute to Titanic. Review: Beautifully Visual and Engaging Book for My Titanic-Obsessed Child – Perfect for Young Enthusiasts! - I bought "Story of the Titanic" by DK for my 6-year-old son, who is autistic and absolutely fascinated—no, obsessed—with the Titanic, the Britannic, and the Olympic. Finding age-appropriate books that are both visually engaging and information-rich has been tricky, but this one hit the sweet spot perfectly. 🚢 Why It’s Perfect for Young Titanic Lovers: Stunning Visuals: Like all DK books, the photography, illustrations, and layout are top-tier. Each page is packed with real photos, clear diagrams, and beautifully rendered scenes that completely captivated my son. He flips through it daily, pointing out details and naming parts of the ship with impressive accuracy. Simple, Digestible Information: The text is clear and easy to understand, even for younger readers. It's broken into short paragraphs with headings, making it ideal for kids who prefer to read in smaller bursts or for parents to read aloud together. Factual but Sensitive: It covers the story of the Titanic respectfully and gently—enough detail to satisfy curiosity but without anything overly graphic or distressing for a 6-year-old. It includes information on the ship’s construction, the people on board, the voyage, and the sinking, all presented in a calm, informative tone. Engages Special Interests: For my son, who thrives when learning about specific topics in depth, this book has become a soothing and enriching part of his routine. It even includes comparisons between Titanic, Britannic, and Olympic, which made his day! 💙 Why I’d Recommend It to Other Parents: It encourages focus, vocabulary building, and comprehension in a way that’s fun and naturally engaging for kids with special interests. It’s built to last—hardback with thick pages, which is great for younger hands that love flipping through books often. It’s a great tool for bonding—we’ve had so many conversations and learning moments thanks to this book. 🌟 Final Thoughts: If you have a child who’s fascinated by the Titanic (and her sister ships), this book is a must-have. It’s educational, visually stunning, and perfectly pitched for younger children without being too basic. For us, it has sparked joy, learning, and hours of peaceful exploration. I can’t recommend it enough—it’s been more than a book; it’s become a daily companion and a window into a world my son truly loves. 💙🚢 Review: Fantastic book - Fantastic book full of wonderful facts perfect for home education or just as an interest book

Spoiler alert - it sinks
Love these DK books. Great illustrations. Loads of little info bits about the ship. My 10 yr old is a bit obsessed about the titanic, loves all the details about how it was build and ultimately how it went down! This book isn’t thick full of pages, but you can pour over every page for a long time thanks to all the little details. Great value too at around £6.

BEAUTIFULLY & ACURATELY ILLUSTRATED "Titanic's story" history book
The book "Story of the Titanic" (2012) looks amazing! It is nicely and accurately illustrated, goes into details divided into 20 chapters from the description of Titanic's grand design and build, through describing the classes of passengers on board back in 1912, the costumes of the society of that history period, until Her final moments. It is an astonishing book and a must have for everyone.

Great big book
My little 4 year old grandson loves this story so much. Obviously his parents don't dwell on the awful loss of life. For him it's about a big big ship sinking after it hit an iceberg. I think he'll return to this book over and over again.
