Angry Goat Pepper Company Purple Hippo Prickly Pear & Scorpion Hot Sauce - Multi Award Winner!, 5 oz., 3 Bottles

The flavor is just the right about of prickly pear (tastes like purple! lol). It's sweet, savory, and hot, but not overwhelmingly hot. I eat Serranos, and Habaneros with every meal every day. So for newbies to spicy this will be more than enough heat and you;ll use it sparingly...for chiliheads like me...you will want to eat this with every bite you take! I put it on baked chicken and sweet potatoes and it was perfect! I even tried it on a wild berry, lavender ice cream and it was perfect! It will pretty much go on anything! It's pricey, but I will buy this again. I can really tell that the ingredients are of high quality.

Very unique hot sauce. The label says some of the tasting notes include bubblegum and watermelon - I can definitely see that. It is quite sweet and tastes almost like a candy, but with some more complex nuances within the flavor as well. The heat is adequately balanced to the bright flavor, and for the heat lovers, I’d say there’s enough heat for a nice kick but it’s not one of those sauces that tries to win you over by boasting a high heat level alone. If you want to check out something a little different, this is a great sauce to try - the bottle even says to put it on Ice cream, and once you taste it it really does make sense!

I love anything hot so of course I would love this. It's very expensive for what it is, but it's tasty. It's got a fairly good punch to it for the weak of heart. My only complaint is that this sauce really upsets my stomach the next day if you know what I mean. I'll be basically on the toilet for at least ten minutes after eating a good bit of this from the night before.

It’s an obsession, really.If you’re like me, and are a frequent customer of Fuego Box, you may have stumbled across a company by the name of Sam & Oliver. They made a hot sauce called Blackheart that I fell in love with. Black cherries and spices and a couple hot peppers (I know reaper was one of them). Anyway I digress … since discovering this sauce years ago the company has folded and I’ve been lamenting Blackheart’s departure.No more. This prickly pear sauce from The Angry Goat has taken the place of Blackheart as my go-to for when I want a good balance of sweet and heat. If that’s your thing I suggest you try this sauce. The flavor is just amazing and the heat level isn’t too crazy so as to not be enjoyable.Like me, you may discover a new fave! Plus, if you haven’t already, I suggest you give Hoff & Pepper’s sauces a try. They are a staple in my family’s fridge!

Got this for my daughter for Christmas. I was hoping she would like it but wasn't sure. She freaking LOVES it! She puts it on everything.(haven't tried it on ice cream yet) need to get more. It's a little spendy for the size but to me it's worth it because she enjoys it so much.

Let me start off by saying.. I didnt like it first taste.. It's has a hint of almost a bubble gum watermelon sweetness right off.. then it heats up.. but just enough to even out the sweetness of it. By the second and third try I was a huge fan!If you like Dicks hot sauce this is slightly similar to that.. just the fruitiness taste different and its slightly hotter. It's a nice heat if your going from a habanero sauce but wanna bump it up but not burn your taste buds off.I've tried, Dave's scorpion, slaughter, dicks, Marie sharps, tropical pepper co. and all the store sauces... Its not as hot as Dave's or the tropical pepper co. scorpion sauces.. but a little below on the heat level.This is definitely in my top 5 favorite sauces I have tried in the past year. I will be purchasing this again! Lasted me about a week because I literally ate it every meal. Its different in a good way!

This is the best hot and sweet sauce I have ever tried (and I have tried a lot). Usually hot and sweet sauces tent to be more on the sweeter side. But this is a perfect balance for those who like really hot sauce and want to add a zing to it. Despite the extremely hot scorpion and habanero peppers, the fruit in the sauce tones down the heat enabling you enjoy the flavor of the hot peppers. I have loved this sauce on anything I have tried it with. The ingredients are definitely high quality. Went through 4 bottles in a month. It's that good ! Just wish it was a bit thicker. Highly recommended.

If you like spice more than average, this is for you! If you don't like to feel the burn, then do not even attempt this! This sauce has some serious tongue burn, but the FLAVOR is amazing! That prickly pear sweetness combined with the heat makes it ideal to add to almost everything. I put it in my turkey wraps, mix it with eggs, and add a few drops to my salsa. I LOVE this stuff!
