SW6130 Door Jamb Relay

I have to applaud Amazon for carrying lots of OEM Motorcraft and AC Delco parts and always at reasonable prices. I needed a new door-ajar switch for my 2008 F150 front passenger door. This is the exact same part the dealership wants twice as much for. Arrived in 24 hours and is exactly the same as the old one I removed. Plugged in the new one and it works perfectly. No more driving around while getting door open beeps and dashboard warnings. Don’t hesitate to buy any OEM parts when shipped and sold by Amazon. BOTTOM LINE: Does not fit 2009 Ford F150. The sensor is now part of the latch so don’t waste your money. You will have to replace entire latch system. I have a 2009 Ford F150 with the suicide doors. My battery kept dying because of the faulty sensor. We took the entire interior door panels off and searched for this imaginary sensor. We went to Ford and showed them the latch set up and the sensor I bought on here. And the parts department got the schematics but couldn’t pinpoint where this sensor went. I went to a mechanic to fix other issues and asked him about the driver side door sensor and he explained they are a different configuration now. You just replace the entire latch. I ended up replacing my battery and it does intermittently register that the passenger door is open and will turn on the interior and brake light on the cab when I initially start the engine and begin driving. But it’s not doing it when it’s off and the battery isn’t draining anymore. So I’m just waiting for it to get to the point where it is more than just an intermittent nuisance before I replace the entire latch system. I just don’t want anyone else wasting valuable time and money on the phantom door ajar sensor.

IF you own a Ford vehicle produced around 2005 that uses this relay (look up your vehicle's compatibility), and you're getting random "door ajar" warnings, this relay could be the cause of it. Please take the time to look up all potential causes of a Door Ajar warning, along with methods to determine whether or not this relay might actually be at fault prior to ordering this. Once you have determined this relay is the cause, be sure to note this is specific to the passenger side (driver side door relay is a different part entirely), and you should look up a youtube tutorial or other online guide on what is involved in replacing it. This is not an easy relay to replace if you do not have the proper tools, and/or basic knowledge of vehicle trim and mechanical construction. However, if you are a garage mechanic, or generally a handy person with mechanics tools, you can switch this relay out with some effort in about 20 to 30 minutes. No special wiring is required (the relay uses the factory connector). You may be tempted to try quick fixes, like disabling warnings, cutting wires, or spraying the door lock with WD-40, but these are dangerous or ineffective fixes to this problem.
