Review: Great spicy little peppers! - Love these! They are small but pretty spicy! I am Italian and it reminds me of home. They have a unique flavor that accentuates the food but didn't take away from the dishes flavor. Tastes wonderful with pizza and pasta, but can be used in many other dishes as well! Good price compared to Italian delis here in the US. I grind mime in a small food processor and put in a spice jar for ease of use, but wear a mask if you inhale the dust you will cough a lot, very uncomfortable. Definitely buy it you like spicy peppers!

**Q: What type of pepper is this, as in, bird's eye, cayenne, etc? Are they grown in Calabria?**
A: It is a Calabrian chili pepper. They are grown in Calabria and are very good. Hot but flavorful. Not like crushed red pepper flavor. Better than that. Get the crushed version. It is like a paste. Don’t get the ones in vinegar.

**Q: Can you germinate  the seeds on these?**
A: I threw mine away because they were live bugs in them.

**Q: Has anyone tried growing peppers from the seeds?**
A: I haven't tried by myself, but I've once seen a guy on the internet who tried to grow peppers from the dried ones bought from groceries. It's not the same product, but he had yield of roughly 0.2% that actually sprouted.

**Q: This is listed as a raw product. Would the seeds be viable if I wanted to try growing them?**
A: I threw mine away because they were live bugs in them.

These are fine quality peppers, just not exactly what I was looking for. Someone gave me some dried peppers years ago which look exactly like these, but they had a smoky smell to them. These “Diavoletti Rossi” do not have that smokiness. They are hot but not extra hot and will work fine in Italian sauces and recipes.
