I wrap my hair, but am not a particularly girly girl. I've had supremely good luck buying lightweight "mens scarves" for this purpose on Amazon. This could easily be labled unisex (or we could just not gender scarves at all), but its not particularly masculine. I'd consider this more of a medium weight scarf. Not suitable for head wrapping due to thickness. It has two heavier weight panels that run its length. These are stiffer and not as soft. The sections on the edges and in between are thinner, softer, and have some flow. If the entire scarf was the weight of the lighter panels it would have been perfect for my use and I would have considered it lightweight. The color was a nice grubby washed out charcoal, which is what I wanted. I had intended to come back to buy the olive if it had worked out for the intended use... even though it didn't, I may come back and buy it in the fall (for neck coverage) anyway. ### ⭐ Nice Scarf BUT... *by K***7 on Reviewed in the United States on October 4, 2019* I bought this scarf for my trip to Europe this September, the scarf arrived nicely packed threw in my wash machine at gentle cycle and then hang dry.So I was in Malcontenta, a small town in the Veneto just right outside Venice, Italy. The weather couldn't be more perfect - as I expected, cool mornings almost misty. So of course it was the perfect scarf weather. I put on the scarf, got spiffed up for the day to visit some friends before heading out to Venice. By noon the weather had changed a bit, it drizzled, so we were having some afternoon spritz when I noticed my hand as if I hadn't washed it for a day, I didn't realize at first what in the world did I touch to get my hands this dirty until my friend asked what did I do as my light blue shirt was also looking pretty dirty around the collar - it was then I realized it was this darn scarf!!! It bled on my shirt which of course is now ruined, I bought a souvenir t-shirt and took off my shirt and the scarf threw it in the garbage bin - it could've been a nice scarf as they said it will keep your neck warm but that thing was very highly Dyed that one washing didn't do it, It ruined a perfectly good dress shirt. If you still decide to buy this thing, make sure to soak it and wash it over and over again - I'm just afraid you'll end up with a scarf reminiscent to the color that you originally bought. I get compliments when I wear it. It's made of acrylic, which it says clearly on the item description, so perhaps it's unfair to knock it for the feel of the fabric. It does not provide a soft cotton/linen feel as they claim. I mean, it doesn't make you bleed or anything, but you notice it. On the other hand, it breathes well and keeps you warm without overheating you as wool would.
