Living Paleo for Dummies
The premise of this book seemed plausible, so I tried following the plan. Basically eating "whole" foods and eliminating or limiting fast food, and refined food products, especially breads and milk. It gave recipes for eating meat/fish/foul with vegetables, roots, fruits and nuts. I've got to say that it worked for me. It follows the same line of thinking that "Eat Right 4 Your Blood Type" does for the most ancient blood type of "O". So far I've lost 17 pounds and once I eliminated milk, my chronic sinus problem cleared right up. Hooray for me!!! Another 10 pounds and I'll be at my right weight. If I get hungry between meals, I grab a handful of nuts and a glass of water and I'm good to go. Not so tired anymore either. With my new found energy, I'm planning a hiking trip with friends.

Great reference book and starter guide for Paleo newbies who need to learn the Paleo lifestyle!
Pros: Easy to understand and follow (So easy a caveman can do it"), Emphasizes lifestyle approach to Paleo, Love the 30-Day Reset. Great reference book.Cons: Beginners may need more recipes in addition to this book to get started"Living Paleo for Dummies" is a great book for the beginner who just read a Paleo book and wondered what the next step is. In very clear language full of food lists, helpful tips and a collection of recipes it offers Paleo newbies (and more advanced Paleo enthusiasts who need more food ideas) an excellent toolkit of recipe idea starters and reference. Included is a program outline for a 30-Day Reset, something I find particularly useful for a Paleo newbie needing a challenge to get started. What I did found particularly unique about this book is its approach. Readers will get more than just a book of recipes, you will get a reference book of Paleo as a lifestyle. You'll learn why certain foods are better for you instead of just being told to eat them. You'll learn how to live more naturally and in tune with the principles of Paleo-natural, flexible, and adaptable in exercise, at home, and at work. The one thing that is missing is a weekly plan or guide, which can be a downfall for newbies. While I understand why the author chose not to include a weekly plan (to get readers a chance at variety), this can be a stumbling block. In other words, if I throw all non-Paleo foods out like the book suggests, what should my first meal be? If you are a good cook, this shouldn't be a problem. If not, you may need a couple more recipe books first before you get started on something like a 30-Day Reset.

paleo way to better health
i'm still researching this book., but from what i've learned, it makes alot of sense into what we're eating and the effects it has on our health., take me for instance, i eat a food that doesnt sit well with me and wham, i feel it almost immediate effects. today i had a basic pj type sandwich for breakfast. the nut butter wasnt too terrible on my system nor was the fruit spread its self but i was flat out lithargic after ingesting the bread its self., i suddenly needed a nap. but on the day that i ate the right types of foods recommended i felt much better. because the right food is medicine and fuel for your body.

An excellent start, but...
I absolutely love this book and would have happily given it five stars except for the simple fact that it was poorly proofread and edited. I have been involved in editorial services thorughout my career, and when I find myself marking a book as if it was a sheaf of first-draft galleys, I know that someone was a bit sloppy in the production of it. Yes, I admit to being picky, since most of the material is interesting and full of excellent material that makes an excellent case for a Paleo lifestyle -- but with the excellent technological tools available today, I would have hoped that this fine series would have done a better job on this particular title.

Informative and very helpful
I love this book. I was looking for a book that would explain the Paleo lifestyle in words I could understand. THIS IS IT!! I have read through it twice. It has recipes that are tasty. The book also has lists of what to purchase. Explains how to figure out how much to eat. A chapter on exercising. It is well written.

for beginners
This is a great start for new paleolithic folks. If you are already into the paleolithic life style toy will find the book redundant. The recipes taste great. Iwish they would get more into organ Keats and the industrialized world's. Vitamine a defincany. Other than that this was a likeable book.

Yea!
Great easy book to try out the Paleo lifestyle without having to wade through the information written with nearly religious fervor of the founders of the Paleo movement.

Simple and clear-cut/good starter book
I have read a lot of Paleo/Primal books, and like quite a few of them. This is one I purchased for two specific audiences: my mother and my patients. This book puts things in a simple and clear-cut format, making it easier for someone to actually use the program with success. Scientific basis for the diet is good information to understand, but that can come after the benefits have been experienced first hand.

Could change your life!
This book is well written and easy to understand. The arguements for changing to a Paleo life style are very strong and persuasive and the author is living proof that this low acid food should keep you healthy into old age because it is what your body was designed to eat.I have not quite finished the book yet. There are recipes at the back and it would be best as a hard copy but the ebook [offer] was incredible value and I will use it together with the author's web site and other books to keep my bones stronger than my mother's! I have given a copy of this book to both my adult children. I have been trying to follow the diet advised by my natropath but this book is making that so much easier and more fun. If you want to know why such illnesses as MS,Cancer,Parkinson's and allergies etc are regularly diagnosed then read this book . It could change your life too,for the better!

Living Paleo for Dummies
Rather depends if you like this format. There is so much information on the web that is free and well discussed that this is probably superfluous to my requirements. Might be helpful if you appreciate a very structured approach.

As you'd expect from the dummies range
A good introduction to the primal live style, with a few different ideas on how to incorporate it into your life in the 21st century
