Excellent Cooling Performance – Huge Temperature Drop While Towing
I installed the LPD47391 40K Transmission Oil Cooler on my Hummer H3, and the results have been outstanding. Before the installation, my transmission oil temperature would climb to around 116°C (241°F) when towing for about an hour. After installing this cooler, I completed a 5-hour towing trip, and the transmission temperature never reached 80°C (176°F). That's a massive improvement and exactly what I was hoping for. Installation was straightforward using only the included hardware and brackets. On the H3, I did have to make a few adjustments: Relocated the horn to create enough mounting space. Moved the wiring attached to the center support in front of the radiator. Mounted the cooler with the ports facing upward to help prevent air from becoming trapped inside the unit. One thing I chose not to use was the supplied hose. I couldn't find sufficient information regarding its pressure or temperature ratings, so for peace of mind I purchased 10 feet of hydraulic transmission-rated hose, cut it into two sections, and used that instead. Overall, I'm extremely happy with this cooler. The reduction in transmission temperature has been dramatic, and it has given me much more confidence when towing for extended periods. If you're looking for a heavy-duty transmission cooler and have the space to install it, I'd definitely recommend this one. Pros: Excellent cooling capacity Significant reduction in transmission temperatures Includes mounting hardware and brackets Solid construction Great for towing applications Cons: Included hose specifications are not clearly documented May require minor vehicle-specific modifications for mounting however i did not drill or cut anything, only used holes that were already there and parts that came with the radiator. Bottom line: A worthwhile upgrade that reduced my towing transmission temperatures from 116°C to under 80°C. Very satisfied with the purchase.

It cools great
Well packaged. Installed into diesel with allison 1000, It dropped transmission temperature 20° - 25°. Update: replacement ordered, weld broke and failed. 2nd replacement failed. Will not order again.

Failed like others mention
I gave it a shot even though the reviews stated the facts.it was installed on my Chevy base RV with supplied hoses. First the hose leaked on me not once but twice. Upon replacing you could see the poor quality of the supplied hose compared to a gates transmission cooler line. Cost me 1 gallon of fluid each leak, good thing I didn’t take my transmission out. On the third leak is the actually cooler leaking. I have used these 40 k coolers from summit that are branded so in conclusion it will cost you more going this cheap route, don’t do it. I know some of you have success and others don’t. I used these Amazon coolers on this Rv and on a jeep. Going to swap them back to tru-cool 40k which I have on my gmc for the last 10 years without issues. I also feel like the fins are very cheap, over all cheap compared to the actual tru-cool.

Well worth the money!!
It was really hot. We were stuck in a tunnel in Boston. Boston is hell at rush hour. We knew this...we went anyway. We were hauling a big trailer with a 1985 Chevy pick up. It's old. We're old too. We knew it was a lot to ask of this truck, so installed this transmission cooler. The truck didn't over heat! We didn't have to run the heater on a 90 degree day in the tunnel! It still was a horrible trip, but at least made less horrible by a GREAT transmission cooler! On the way home to Maine we avoided Boston, we swung by the White Mountains, and again, the cooler worked great, hauling up those big hills in the White Mountains it performed flawlessly! We would highly recommend!!

quality cooler cheap hose
Cooler itself seems to be good quality. Don't use the cheap lines they send. Had one break 10 miles after putting it on cut the hose back and split again in less 300 ft.

Overall good just cheap hose
Almost really good. It comes with enough hardware and fitting that you’ll need. Just don’t use the hose provided. It busted on me only after 2 hours of driving and had me on the side of the interstate. Replaced with some better stuff. Only reason I’m giving it 4 stars.
