I bought this to replace the super chic grocery bag hanging from the gear selector in the Chevy Silverado. While this garbage bin doesn't offer the same folksy aesthetic of say a Walmart bag smashed against the steering column, it fits nicely on the front floor and stays out of the way. Five stars.

I like the size of the trash container. It works good with standard plastic grocery bags as linersI believe the dimpled base would work good on carpeted floors, but the trash can still slides on the rear floor mat. The mat mounted on the bottom of the trash can needs to be “sticky” to grab the plastic floor mat.I am working on ideas to fix the sliding problem.UPDATE: I put two cups of clean sandbox sand into a ziplock bag. Then I put that bag into another ziploc lag. I used black duck tape to tape the bags on the bottom of the bin and used the black duck tape to make a “false bottom”. Now it stays in place and does not tip over. I use grocery store bags as liners and use a huge rubber band around the exterior of the top. A lot of extra effort, but now I have a really good car waste basket.

Love the size and how it has the non slip gripping on the two sides to help prevent sliding and tipping over. Fits great in our truck.

I am lost without a trash receptacle of some sort in my car but with my new Mercedes SUV, there didn't seem to be an inconspicuous place in the car to put one. I had a plastic one that fit between my two front seats in my past car but that wasn't going to work in my new car. Then I saw this hard bin on Amazon and it seemed perfect to sit on the hump of the floor in the back seat. and Voila! it does. it has little spikes on the two flaps that hold it in place to your car's carpet and it never slips. and it's so convenient for me to reach behind me and pop trash into it from either driver's side or passenger side of the front seat. It's the perfect size too.

An Amazon customer saw my negative review of a similar garbage can that was too small and sent me a link to this. I am SO glad he did!!! This is a perfect size can for any car. I use it in my Rav 4. It stands on the floor in the passenger area and is very stable. I put a waste basket sized plastic bag in it and it holds plenty of trash--from Starbucks cups to toddler trash.

This thing is really great. It's hard to find a good trash solution. The ones that hang from the seat back are good in concept but hang in the faces of rear passengers and have clips and straps, whereas this couldn't be simpler. It's full, you take out out, dump it, and toss it back in. I have a Lincoln MKX that has almost no hump and a Honda Fit that has a big hump and it works great in both. The size is perfect, any bigger and it would block rear vents and also get into the foot areas of passengers. It holds a surprising amount of stuff! I had a crumpled Wendy's bag, taco bell cup, McDonald's cup, Starbucks glass bottle, wrappers, kid wipes, napkins, and an altoid tin in there when I dumped it today. Yes, that's a lot of fast food. Don't judge. My daughter can toss stuff in it easily from he car seat, and it's an easy reach for me and my wife from the front. Also stays put. No more trash filled passenger side foot wells for me!

I love this trash can. The flaps on each side of the can, keep it from flipping over. The can itself, is not too big, but not too little. It also doesn't take up too much room. A passenger can still sit comfortably with the can at his/her feet. I like that the trash can is a sturdy, and can be washed. It's also very nice looking.

The unit holds well to a center hump, although for one of my cars I had to trim the "wings" slightly and then devise another method of keeping it in place. This was a result of the car's center hump design and not a flaw with the trash bin itselff. Indeed, the second one I purchased works excellently without modification in my second car.This unit is not huge but it is big enough, especially if you don't leave it festering with debris for weeks. Also beware that it doesn't accept standard grocery bags as liners. However, it is possible to closely tie the four corners of a standard grocery bag to make it fit the bin snugly. This only take a few seconds to acccomplish.

I was a bit skeptical thinking this would roll around the van (Pacifica), but it stays in place really well. It’s kind of weighted on the rubber bits. Stays in place.
