Doesn't work, no matter how I install it
It's installed correctly, it worked once when I installed it. But it doesn't dispense ANYTHING after that. The water drops & it's supposed to drip some out...it doesn't. Great concept, but something needs to be done to improve it's release of product. If you go in & shake it around, yes some comes out, but then nothing on next flush.

This works GREAT When you use it correctly - HIGHLY RECOMMEND
So, we have four toilet commodes in this house, and I was tired of constantly cleaning them. This device is something I remember my mother and Aunt using when I was a kid. The thing is, many people don't understand HOW it works. Stanley sells a "Concentrated" liquid that smells like roses or something that you are supposed to use with this. However, many reviewers complained it was too strong smelling. The thing is, this isn't going to "DRIP DRIP" or drain a ton of liquid into the tank with each flush. Rather, it sort of "Mixes" the water in the tank with what is in this dispenser. I am using Lavender Fabuloso, and it lasts about 2 months. Now, at the end of the 2 months - the liquid in this dispenser will not all be gone - RATHER - it will have a very light color compared to when you originally poured the Fabuloso in and set the dispenser in place. The lavender I use is a purple color. After two months, you will notice there are no longer some "bubbles" in the water when you flush, and the nice low-level smell of the Fabuloso is no longer present. When you look at the liquid in the dispenser, you will see the purple color is very faint, as it has done it's job for those 2 months. I simply pour that it into the tank and refill it with FRESH Fabuloso. Then I know I'm ready for another 2 months!!! I can't speak to what others say or use in this dispenser, but refilling it with lavender Fabuloso every two months is keeping all my toilets fresh smelling, and the bowls are CLEAN!!!! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this neat little device.

OK buy
The concept is pretty good but unfortunately they don't work as expected. The release of fluid isn't enough to make a difference.

Works well for us, had to find the right liquid to use
Although I like the concept of a per-flush dispenser for my toilet tanks, I was not interested in purchasing the Stanley liquid for this. I wanted to use something that I have around the house as a commodity so that I wasn't trying to track yet-another-consumable that I had to keep ordering. I first tried 9% vinegar liquid, however it appears that it never dispenses. I ran it for a couple of weeks and dozens and dozens of flushes and the level never went down perceptibly. I've seen other reviews mentioning similar experiences with low-viscosity (water-like) liquids. Next I tried Dr. Bronner's Peppermint castile soap, and this worked GREAT. It dispenses in very small amounts, you get a VERY SLIGHT hint of scent when you flush, which dissipates almost immediately, and you can see a bit of foam floating on top of the water after the flush, but that dissipates as well. With regards to the dispenser itself, I would have preferred a more adaptable metal hanger. The current one is thin sheet metal, which is kind of bendable, but my toilet tanks have 'lips' on the top, and the hanger for this gets in the way of the top sitting perfectly flat and fully seated. I tried bending it to match the shape of the lip, but it was difficult to get it just right. I would have preferred something like a flexible metal wire hangar, or some other solution, that can adapt to most modern tank rim/lid combinations. But that's a quibble, and overall we like these dispensers.

Iโm glad I donโt have to purchase that nasty blue stuff anymore. I can put peach in my toilet.
It is a little costly up front but in the long run worth the savings you can put most any great smelling cleaners in there. I use peach Fabulosa.

Tank Lid interference
I bought this to try on our American Standard toilet. It didn't fit the tank because the lid on the tank protrudes down into the tank slightly and hits the Stanley dispenser. We also have a Kohler toilet that had one portion of lid that did not protrude down into the tank so I installed it there. According to #4 step in the directions there is and ideal elevation for the dispenser to be installed at in relation to the tank's water level, however there is no means to adjust this device. The tank's water level is set for maximum efficiency and should not be changed for this poorly designed product. For what you get the product's price is about 3 times what it should be. I'm going to carefully clamp mine to to the tank's overflow tube that will allow the dispenser to raise up into the domed portion of the tank's lid. Just what I need, another modification project. LOL This product is not for the average Joe or Jane. Update since I have made a stand for this that allows the device to fit up into the dome of the lid. There is an air vent on the top of the dispenser portion & that needs to be slightly above the water level.
