Worked like a charm!
I decided to paint my screen porch with white paint and did undo all screens. I tried to install it back with Lowe's nylon wheel roller but spline would not go in correctly and also my wrist started giving pain because of too much pressure I needed to work on. I saw this roller's review and thought to give a try as it have bearings on it. It worked like a charm!. I did screens first time my self and took about 3 hours to do whole screen room as shown on picture. It make the job very easy. I used mesh screen and it did not cut any part of it even at some place I needed to roll twice. Good value of money and best product for the job.

Great gift for dad who will use it one time and lose it!
It works great while you have it in your hand! Fits in the crack or spine.. of the window to repair the screen. Doesn't cut the screen but does pushes it the groove where it needs to go. However, when you sit it down, much like the famous 10mm socket( or my case torx heads because chevy punished us all when they made the 80 model Camaro and filled them with those screws) it will flee right before your eyes! Lock it up! You'll use it once, lose and have to order another. But hey, at the price it's not bad.

Sturdy, has ‘bearings’ in wheels, metal rollers can cut fiber-screen
Liked: Very sturdy handle and metal rollers with bearings, making it very easy to roll with pressure.Disliked: When installing fiberglass black types of door/window screen, this tool, as compared to the nylon-roller screen tools, is very prone to slicing the edge of the screen. That is, when pressure rolling the rubber strip into the surround-grove, the metal rollers can very easily come into contact with the portion of the screen to the ‘tensioned’ side of the groove (the stretched-screen side) and it will “slice” almost imperceptibly the fine threads of the screen. This happened on very fine “clear view” types of window/door screen. The plastic types of rollers are less likely to cause “slicing” of the screen, but I do like the sturdiness and bearing feature of this roller … but will use a nylon roller type next time.

Did the job
I use a tool like this about every 10 years but when you need it there is no substitute! I lost my other one, the price was great on this one and it works just fine. Recommend.

Screen replacement made easier
Wish I would have purchase this tool months ago after a hurricane came through our area. Several screens blew out of our lanai leaving my husband and I the job to replace the screens. We both had purchased plastic screen rollers from the local hardware store. Replacing the spline was such a project with these plastic rollers. Bought this and I could not believe how much easier our re-screening went. I would suggest this tool for anyone planning on replacing screens.

Use with spline mouse
The roller is obvious good quality but I liked using it to press the screen in the groove and then use the mouse spline roller tool to feed the spline into the groove. This tool was just a little bit too wide for my project. I was replacing solar screens with 90% light protecting screen material which is thicker than most.

Should last a lifetime and not wimpy.
The plastic one completed 4 window screens before breaking. Started using this one and it just feels more solid and smoother than that wimpy plastic one. On some other ratings, there was some mention of casting imperfections in the wheels. The wheels on the one I received are smooth and no imperfections. Should last a lifetime unless lost or stolen.
