This worked for me! I’ve been struggling with neck pain the last 3 months. Suddenly all the pillows in my house were giving me neck pain out of the blue. I went and bought a ton of different styles in hopes of a better night’s sleep but nothing worked until this buckwheat pillow. Love it - thanks for a quality product.

I have a homemade version with mustard seeds that I love but it is a bit heavy. This is light weight and size is perfect.

I've bought this twice. Love it! I'm a side sleeper and was tired of waking up with neck pain. I bought this and took about a week to get used to it. I will never go back to a foam/down pillow now. The little buckwheat nibs are moldable and hold their shape. They are also cooler than a regular pillow (I guess the nibs have spaces around them for air flow). I like to make a little indentation where my earrings are, so they don't crush into my ear when I lie on my side. The pillow is supportive. Perhaps a bit big for travel, but almost workable. I put mine in the freezer for a few days before use, just because I've read about bugs, although mine never had any. After a year, I noticed it was smaller than before, so I refilled it with a cup of buckwheat nibs, and it's like new again. I even bought a second one. My only concern is that the zipper is plastic, so be gentle with it. Mine hasn't broken, but I think it would break easily if you are rough when unzipping. However, the zipper is soft because it's plastic, and doesn't interfere with my sleep. I use a regular pillow case over the top so that I don't have to wash the color pillow cover often. It works for me.

I almost didn't buy this pillow after reading the negative reviews. Bugs! AHHH!! Having just gotten rid of a flour beetle infestation in my cupboard, the thought of bugs gave me the heebies. Who the heck would willingly buy something ORGANIC that might have BUGS (because everyone knows that ORGANIC means pesticides or something really toxic was used on the stuffing you're about to put your face on right? Not. So you'd better know how to deal with bugs:))? If you like organic things, no pesticides, no chemicals, you should know how to get rid of bugs, because real organic things often have bugs. I'm going to tell you what to do to kill bugs WITHOUT chemicals... The MICROWAVE! 2 minutes in the microwave kills most bugs. Put your inner pillow in the microwave for 2 minutes. The buckwheat hulls will steam. Yes, steam. If they completely dried out, they'd be so brittle they'd become dust, so there's still moisture in there. Now shake it up, flip it around, and put it back in the microwave for another 2 minutes. You've KILLED all the bugs and probably any eggs. Let the pillow cool down, 4 minutes in the microwave, it's pretty hot. To be 100% sure... now FREEZE the pillow in the freezer for 24 hours. Anything that can survive boiling isn't going to survive freezing as well. So freezing after microwaving should wipe out any still surviving bugs, bacteria, fungus, virus and eggs. Everything except tardigrades. No more bugs. No more bug eggs. If for whatever reason, new bugs smell your delicious buckwheat (because they are grain... and thus FOOD for a whole lot of things besides humans too), back in the microwave they go for 2 minutes. This also kills lice, bedbugs, mites, scabies, mange and whatever else your guests hopefully don't bring into your house. Now you know how to treat ANYTHING organic or inert, from pillowcases to stuffed animals. About the pillow.... omg, I LOVE it! LOVE LOVE LOVE it! No, the zipper isn't flimsy, you just have to be more careful with it, I mean, it's a pillow zipper, not luggage zipper? This pillow is way overstuffed with buckwheat hulls. What a nice surprise! Another reason I reviewed this was reading that someone TOOK THE INNER PILLOW OUT and put it into a bigger pillowcase to use... and when it burst from their own actions, they gave this pillow 1 star. What? I couldn't help it, I had to offer at least a contrasting review, and a comment... Did you look at the fabric of the inner pillowcase? It's a tight weave... but extremely delicate so you can feel the husks. How wouldn't anyone expect that small bag to split? I couldn't believe anyone who did something like that themselves would come here to complain and tell on themselves .... its like if you take the inner tube out of a bicycle wheel, wrapped it in aluminum foil, and proceeded to ride your bicycle every day on your genius inner tube wrapped aluminum foil. Then complain about the bicycle quality when the inner tube popped. Um. I have serious allergies. I THINK they added some dried lavender or another dried herb (maybe wormwood?) to the husks to keep bugs away from the delicious smell of buckwheat. This is bad for me, and maybe good for you unless you hate lavender or you are allergic to it. I'm allergic to it. Argh. I had to wrap the pillow in so far 9 layers. 2 quilted pillowcases doubled, 1 pure silk zippered pillowcase doubled, the original pillowcase, the gift carrying bag it came in, and finally the husk bag. I can still smell it... but it no longer makes me sneeze. Hopefully, this is enough to prevent any dust from reaching me.... only time will tell. So far so good. I LOVE the feel of the rock hard pillow enough to do all this so I can keep using it. Would I buy it again? Oh heck yes. I paid full price for this pillow, and I'm incredibly jealous of Vine Reviewers who get free stuff. If you love organics and you don't know about microwaving bugs, I hope this review helped you and I hope you will like this review too, just so I know it's still worth writing reviews.

I was so looking forward to receiving this pillow hoping it would be worth the wait. The pillow arrived and the fill is less than 3/4s full. Was looking for firmer support than traditional fill and foam. I reached out to the company over a week ago and no one has returned my message. If you aren’t prepared to shell out more money for fill, don't buy it.

I love me some buckwheat pillows. I tried for years to love them and had a hard time with the lack of give, then I developed an issue with my spine that necessitated a firmer pillow with the right kind of shape and gave buckwheat another try. I am a restless, hot sleeper, and can offer with confidence that this pillow works for side and back sleeping and stays cool, unlike polyester or memory foam. It's also impossibly comfortable and great for spinal alignment - I have one for my head and one to put between my knees. The shape and size are prefect. These come overstuffed and I had to take about 5 cups of hulls out before it was my "just right." Everyone has their own "just right", not just with buckwheat, but with any sort of pillow, but buckwheat is singular in that it is highly customizable if you can get to the buckwheat and add or subtract as needed. Also worth mentioning: there are no bugs in my pillows.

The cover has a very flimsy zipper. I washed it before use and the zipper broke while I tried to put it back on.

Btw I never write reviews but I have to because this pillow doesn't look promising but it's heaven!! First of all I have 200$ memory foam pillows and feather pillows and no matter how I place them every morning I wake up with back pain, neck pain and sometimes a headache - so basically I wake up tired every morning. This pillow feels hard at first and I wasn't sure I was gonna sleep well but I didn't wake up once at night and woke up in the morning without any pain whatsoever and rested. I like to sleep on hard mattresses and I think this pillow is perfect for that. Granted the cover design is not the best and the fabric doesn't look like the best quality but I don't care you can replace that or buy a new pillow every time it breaks - as long as I don't sleep in pain it's all worth it!
