It is a hard candy; don't expect something chewy, but the flavor is great...Not at all the "molasses" stuff that they try to pass-off as Black Licorice flavor. If I had any criticism at all I'd say that the candies are to large - Half-size would be ideal, in my opinion.

A: Not sure about an expiration date.  But this candy is so delicious, it won't be around long enough to expire.  Nothing in it will spoil.  Since it is a hard candy, just keep it in a cool dry place, and it should be fine for a long time.

For the minority of us who LOVE the flavor of Anise, or black licorice - this is delicious. It is a hard candy; don't expect something chewy, but the flavor is great...Not at all the "molasses" stuff that they try to pass-off as Black Licorice flavor.
