Easy purchase, easy install, great tasting water.
Amazing product, great taste on the water and ice from the filter, extremely easy to install and overall great value for the money spent. Saved the trouble of installing a whole home unit or even under the sink unit, the filter fits perfectly behind the refrigerator and works like any other quality filter. A easy DIY project to improve the water quality from the refrigerator, always helps to have your water double filtered without the high costs.

Great Filter easy to install
I used this to filter water from my outdoor faucet to my outdoor Ice maker. It works great and came with all of parts to connect it properly.

8th Month Update: Good, but doesn’t last nearly as long as advertised
We started using this filter 8 months ago. My backstory is similar to most everyone else’s: got tired of buying the overpriced proprietary filters for the fridge, so I sought out an inline filter as the solution. I had bought Aquacrest filters in the past for a Pur pitcher and was very satisfied with the quality (both taste and longevity), so I figured I’d give the brand a try for a fridge filter. Install was very straightforward. If you’re even remotely handy around the house, this will be no problem. We don’t live somewhere where we have to worry about contaminates or particularly hard water…this is purely for taste. That said, don’t overlook the fact that like most simple inline filters (and UNlike pitcher filters), it’s not going to reduce TDS, at least not enough to matter. Pre-install, my cheap little TDS meter read 190 and after install and bleeding out the first five gallons of water, it was around 180. That said, the taste of our water noticeably improved. I wouldn’t say it was bottled-water-quality, but it was better than straight from the tap. My biggest qualm is simply the life of the filter. “Five years/5,000 gallons” is an insane claim. We’re eight months in and I’d say it’s pretty much done. I can’t tell a difference between tap water and the fridge water running through this filter at this point. We’re a normal-sized household and definitely not using anywhere close to 20 gallons per day from the water/ice dispenser (20 gallons per day for eight months is roughly 5k gallons.) If I WAY over-estimate, then let’s say we pull 5 gallons per day on average, just to use an easy number. Then this filter should have lasted us almost three years, not eight months… Anyway, the bright side is that even if it needs replacing every 6 months, that’s the same frequency as the proprietary filters and it’s 1/3 the cost, so still a win. Would I recommend it? I think so, but I’m going to try a different brand next time to see how it compares.

Good price works good so far.

Super easy install and no more expensive filters
No more filters that cost $40 every 6 months and have proprietary chips to force you to buy the OEM filter. Install this kit and bypass plug you get separately and save yourself a ton of money. I can’t speak to longevity of this filter but if it’s anywhere close to its advertised life I’ll have save hundreds of dollars.

Easy install and it works , so far
So far, so good. Installed easily. Didn’t have to cut anything. Just detach the ice maker tube from the back of the freezer where it enters, coil it up because it’s going to be too long. Attach that end to the inlet end of the filter where water comes in from the main water line, you’ll need to add the little plastic pieces that you simply shove into the filter on both sides first before connecting any tubing to filter. Then simply slide the outlet tube to the ice maker inlet valve at the back of fridge directly behind the ice maker. The kit comes with thread tape, a small spool of very thin fine white tape and simply wrap it around the threads of everything that has threads, wrap around it 3xs for a good seal. Have two pairs of pliers to tighten all connection points. Don’t over tighten though. Stiff tighten is enough. Turn the water valve back on (to flow) and look for leaks. No leaks means your ready to mount the filter on the back of the fridge. Think to place the filter in any place that accommodates the way the excess coiled line is going to compact the line and filter to be as flush as possible to the back of the fridge. The kit comes with three mounting brackets that can be attached by stickers to the fridge or by screws you do not want to screw into the back of the fridge. If mounting in a cabinet then mounting with screws maybe the best option. Use the stickers and Mount it by snapping it onto the C shaped mounts included. It’s self explanatory when you pull everything out of the box, for most folks. Says it’ll last 20,000 gallons or 5 years. Only time will tell. Do not use the first four to five batches of ice. It’ll be grey or black at first. Dump it in the sink. Repeat two gallons or several cycles. Once the ice is crystal clear, your good to use it.

Good quality filter and easy to install.
Very nice inline filter for a refrigerator. Well made and easy to install. Just be sure you are ready to insert the connectors into the filter before you do or you will not be able to remove them. I found it easier to attach/screw the the plug in connectors to the water lines first and then plug them into the filter. I attached the water line first and flushed to filter into a bucket and then attached the refrigerator line when ready. You still need to discard the first few batches of ice but you will have nice clean ice.

I had a much shorter lifespan filter in line between my city water supply and my fridge ice maker. I put this in to replace that as this should last quite a bit longer. It was easy to install with what I already had in place and the hardware that came with this filter. I have stainless steel braided lines going to the fridge and the shut-off valve to the water supply in my basement so the fittings that came with it, that push into this filter and have the 3/8" threaded connectors I was able to screw the braided lines directly onto. Had no leaks first try! Been using it for a couple months now with no issues, iced tastes good with no chlorine or fluoride taste or smell. Excellent upgrade!
