these are well made. for the record, i don't use these for climbing, rather i use these for lines i am using to hold limbs i am cutting (or more specifically, gear tied to line used to lower or rig limbs. no fails, the ring locking clip does not gunk up, and after 2 years now, i'm still on the originals, and i feel safe using them, however caution here, tree work is dangerous, if you are going to do this, you do this at your own risk, people get injured or killed doing tree work. i am rating to carabiner, not the quality rope i use, or the hardware.
