## Overview

PyroDinos are live bioluminescent marine plankton (Pyrocystis fusiformis) that glow blue when disturbed in the dark. Supplied in a 200ml spout pouch with 280ml DinoNutrients to sustain growth, they require 8-12 hours of daily light and periodic nutrient additions. Ideal for creating a unique, low-maintenance natural light display in any clear container.

## Description

PyroDinos are bioluminescent marine plankton classified as Pyrocystis fusiformis (aka Dinoflagellates). PyroDinos use light to grow (like a plant) and glow blue at night when disturbed. They grow and perform their best when DinoNutrients are periodically added. The natural light produced by these plankton is called Bioluminescence. PyroDinos will only light up at night, in the dark when gently swirled or shaken. Enjoy them in the spout pouch or your favorite bottle or clear container. Do not drink PyroDinos! They are non-toxic but live in seawater which is not digestable.

Review: Blue green flash - It's totally entrancing to see the flashes of blue green light when I shake the culture vessel in the dark of night. The culture arrives with extra food (medium) and good instructions.
Review: Amazing Glow! - I was a little skeptical at how bright these were going to be, But they are really amazing! They were dimmer the first few days, but as you can see in the video they brightened up quite a bit after about a week. They are easy to take care of. They need sunlight, a bit of oxygen, and the nutrient. They sit in the sun of a frosted window, I stir them every few days for oxygen, and I leave the corks undone unless I stir them to show them off. Other than that I've just been giving them a drip of the nutrient every 2 weeks. Great gift idea for budding scientists or friends who love nature. I'm going to put some in different sea creature shaped glass bottles and give them as gifts.

- PyroDinos will require daily lighting (low to moderate room lighting), 8- 12 hours a day. Loosen cap once a week to allow for some air-exchange.
- It is OK to leave the PyroDinos in their white Spout Pouch for 1 month after delivery. Our PyroDinos have enough resources in the pouch to sustain them for 4 weeks
- Find a clean, clear container to pour your PyroDinos into that will allow them to grow. Every one or two weeks, add small amounts of DinoNutrients (10 to 20%) of total volume.

**Q: What can I do if mine aren’t active?**
A: It took ours about a week to be active.

**Q: Can they live in a fishtank?**
A: PyroDinos can live in a saltwater fish or coral tank. They are phytoplankton and can be fed to the fish. They can not live in a freshwater system.

**Q: how long does shipping take, within US?**
A: PyroFarms ships on Mondays, Tuesday and Wednesdays (except holidays) to avoid weekend delays.  Shipments usually take 2 days once shipped.

**Q: Mine suddenly stopped glowing after glowing every night for a week. How do I know if they are dead?**
A: Shake or swirl the PyroDinos during nightime hours, later into the evening to be sure.  If you do not see light during nighttime hours in a dark room then they could be dead.

I was a little skeptical at how bright these were going to be, But they are really amazing! They were dimmer the first few days, but as you can see in the video they brightened up quite a bit after about a week. They are easy to take care of. They need sunlight, a bit of oxygen, and the nutrient. They sit in the sun of a frosted window, I stir them every few days for oxygen, and I leave the corks undone unless I stir them to show them off. Other than that I've just been giving them a drip of the nutrient every 2 weeks. Great gift idea for budding scientists or friends who love nature. I'm going to put some in different sea creature shaped glass bottles and give them as gifts.
