Blue green flash
It's totally entrancing to see the flashes of blue green light when I shake the culture vessel in the dark of night. The culture arrives with extra food (medium) and good instructions.

Amazing Glow!
I was a little skeptical at how bright these were going to be, But they are really amazing! They were dimmer the first few days, but as you can see in the video they brightened up quite a bit after about a week. They are easy to take care of. They need sunlight, a bit of oxygen, and the nutrient. They sit in the sun of a frosted window, I stir them every few days for oxygen, and I leave the corks undone unless I stir them to show them off. Other than that I've just been giving them a drip of the nutrient every 2 weeks. Great gift idea for budding scientists or friends who love nature. I'm going to put some in different sea creature shaped glass bottles and give them as gifts.

Don’t bother buying.
Followed instructions and unfortunately I have not seen any change. I bought this around Christmas time. I would like a refund.

Do NOT buy these on Amazon
This is actually the third batch I bought from PyroFarm, yet the first time I tried on Amazon because I wanted free shipment for an unboxing video. Both batches I got directly from their website travelled all the way from California to Atlanta, was healthy and are still thriving in my living room. However, this one I got through Amazon looked fractured (I mean the cells not the pouch) when I opened it as soon as I received the package, and as many reviews here says, did not glow that night. I don't know how Amazon handled these delicate fairies, maybe it took too long for the logistics or suffered from recent heat wave, but the ones I got directly from PyroFarm website a few days ago definitly glowed on the day they arrived. On website, they deploy a very strict shipping schedule to make sure the algae spending minimal time in complete darkness and unstable temperature. So I would advice you to NOT buy the living part through Amazon. Other accessories should be fine, in my opinion.
